Meet Nelly Chanelle | Rising Star

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nelly Chanelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nelly, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Most people don’t take risk out of the fear of failure. In reality, we risk our lives everyday; Driving is a risk, shopping online is risky, flying on an airplane is a risk ,relationships are risky, not trying at all is a risk in itself. Risk taking shapes your character and builds resilence (Intelligent Risk). Some of my biggest life lessons to date were found through taking risks .

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I write, direct and act in comedy sketches. I know cliché but I love what I do. I love entertaining people and sharing relatable stories. I was the only one laughing at my content just a couple years ago (sometimes I’m still the only one laughing), but I told myself one day, I will hit a million views and I did, with over 10k comments of laughter. I’m most proud of this because I set a goal and accomplished it. Its nice to see all my hard work payoff. Nothing is more fulfilling than making people laugh because if they are laughing it means they’re smiling. I love people. It hasn’t been easy, making people laugh is an art and risky. But as I mentioned before, taking risk builds character. Sometimes people will laugh at you and sometimes people will laugh with you, but you live to write another day!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Hmmm, the first thing I would do is take them to a spot called “Horseplay Adventures’ so we can ride ATV’s and Horses. I’d also take them to Piedmont park hopefully they can skate because I love rollerskating outdoors. We’d definitely have to hit Starlight Drive-In. But before we do that we’d have to roll though the hood and find some hot wings extra crispy baby.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Id like to give a shoutout to God, my mother Sharon and my sister Teddi. Without these 3 I wouldn’t have the creative freedom I have today. I will also like to give a major shoutout to the author Robert Greene. His book “Mastery” impacted my life in ways I could have never imagined.
