We had the good fortune of connecting with Nelldra Allen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nelldra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I first started my business it was because I was working for an online company and I was trying to get around receiving a reduced commission. The only way I could do that was by opening an LLC. Later I used the same business to report the sales of my children’s book that I wrote and now to report my earnings as a real estate agent.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When I became a real estate agent, it was by complete accident, or as I like to say providence of God. We were thinking about selling our first house that we bought when we were 22 years old. We were so young when we bought it, that we went into it blind and didn’t want to do it that way again. BJ suggested that I sign up for this class that would give me more information. After a series of events I found out that this class was actually a class to become a real estate agent. Because they weren’t giving refunds, I decided to take the class and passed on the first try. God was with me, that was the hardest test I ever took in my life. After the class, came pouring in ALLLLL of these unexpected expenses of being a real estate agent. This is the part no one prepared me for. THEN, there was a period of me hustling and grinding to no end with no results. I became stressed, depressed and overwhelmed. After a year of beginning this journey, I couldn’t recognize myself due to the fog of rejection, confusion and self-doubt I found myself in. Through therapy, and the prayers and fasting of other on my behalf, I got to a better place and here I am today! Today my brand looks exactly like my real life. I stand apart because I am a realtor that prays through all transactions and trusts God to take care of my problems instead of worry; after all worry never solved anything. At the lowest point of my professional career, I didn’t know that God was perfecting my brand and my super power; prayer! Now I can look back at that time and be completely thankful!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to my favorite spots: Flavor Rich food Truck for brunch
Walks around Gwinnett County parks
Visit to the JeJu Sauna and Spa
Dancing at Loca Luna

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The main person that I would have to shout out is my husband Brian “BJ” Allen. When I quit my job as a teacher to raise our kids, I still wanted to contribute financially. However, it turns out that all the attempts at contributing was more of a drain on our finances than anything. Through it all, he supported every one of my adventures. He made me feel like I was doing something special and he never gave up on me. The biggest investment he put into me during this time was my real estate business, and FINALLY this venture has paid off.
