We had the good fortune of connecting with Nekia Ellison and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nekia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to be authentic to myself. I’ve always wanted to help and heal others. When my father became ill, I was up day and night trying to find holistic ways to heal him. I researched any and everything from foods to herbal oils to help with his skin. All of it left me with this nagging idea to make oils. I brushed it off for a while until one night I was up late. It was as if I was put on autopilot. I was up for hours making oils. The oils were created with the intention of helping others heal physically and spiritually. What started with oils, turned into me becoming a certified Spiritual Life Coach and Mystic Healer.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
MoonKissed Orchids, LLC is a homebased, spiritual business. It handles healing and different forms of Mysticism and Divination. I handle situations that deal with the spiritual aspect of life. Those aspects include (but are not limited to): Life Coaching, Tarot/Oracle Readings, Jinx Removing, Love Magick, Road Opening, and more. It hasn’t always been an easy road seeing that this walk of life is demonized by those that do not understand it. I had to teach myself to trust my intuition and not look for approval to walk this path. I am all the authority that I need to continue down this path. This career path can become hectic if you’re not constantly grounding and protecting yourself. There’s always room for improvement. The healing side isn’t beautiful or easy, but it is worth it in the end. People will always fear what they do not understand, and that’s fine. YOUR path is YOURS alone and only you can tell yourself which roads to take.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being located in a small town, there is little excitement unless you know where to look. Here, we have a tourist attraction called Callaway Gardens. They offer many activities, such as: their beautiful beach, the Butterfly Center, Fantasy in Lights (only available during Winter), and a few eating places. My favorite place to frequent for drinks is called San Marcos. They have a delightful staff and delicious food to go along with those drinks. If you just want to get away from distracting noises, looking out at the sky from the mountain top is always an amazing way to decompress.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout my late father, Ellis Allen. I would not have dove this far in had I not been trying to heal him.
