We had the good fortune of connecting with Nehemiah Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nehemiah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process was that there is not too many young and black entrepreneurs being talked about and I wanted to change that narrative somehow. With that being said I started a clothing brand because I like dressing and I thought that would be dope for me to start my business as a clothing brand.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is that I am younger than most people who start their own brands and businesses. When I was 12 years old I stayed up late many nights researching different options and how to build my business with just a printer and an Idea. I started my brand when I was 12 years old and I had a vision and I am to this day still building and expanding that vision. That is what sets me apart. I am most proud of seeing people wearing my clothes. It is a great feeling to walk in the barber shop and see someone with your shirt on and also to have someone ask about your new design. These things keep me going. God and my work ethic is what got me to where I am today as it regards to my brand. I have went in different places and approached people about shopping with me and I would get ten no’s and one yes. But, I kept going. It was most definitely not easy to get to this point and I am still working to grow and get further than where I currently am. Along the way I learned that you must not be scared to talk to people about your business because you never know what knowledge and information they can share with you. I want the world to know that my brand is bigger than clothes. It is a message that I feel the world needs to hear. Everyone is royalty.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I was on a week long trip in Atlanta with my best friend I would eat at The Varsity, Grip’s Good Eats and The Bando. We would hang out at Lenox Mall and we would definitely just ride around ATL and enjoy the vibes of Atlanta.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The person that I dedicate my shoutout to is most definitely my mom. She has been a huge influence in my brand as it comes to learning the ins and outs of running a business and I really appreciate her for that.
