Meet Nazahria (Coco) East | Model & Fashionista

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nazahria (Coco) East and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nazahria (Coco), where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born in Miami to a wonderfully diverse family. My mother’s side is a blend of Panamanian, Jamaican, Haitian, and Trinidadian heritage, which made growing up a rich and vibrant experience. This multicultural environment taught me early on that everyone is different, and that’s something to be celebrated.
When I moved to South Atlanta, I encountered a different cultural landscape. I often found myself explaining to other kids that it’s entirely possible to be both Black and Latino, and that Black people can speak Spanish too. These experiences shaped my understanding of identity and diversity, instilling in me a deep appreciation for the varied ways people live and express their cultures. This background has made me more open-minded and empathetic, and it continues to influence how I connect with others.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am currently a university student, and while I feel a mix of fear and determination, I am never doubtful about my path. I believe that what’s meant for me will come to fruition, and what isn’t meant for me will pass by. As I work towards my degree, I envision myself diving into the world of Public Relations (PR) and refining my skills in this field. Currently, I am working as a salesperson, learning the ropes of sales and customer engagement every day.
Upon graduation, my ultimate goal is to open my own PR agency. Although much of my plan is still developing in my mind, I am confident that the universe will guide me toward the resources and opportunities I need for success.
Modeling has always been a side hustle, and fashion remains a beloved hobby. I would be thrilled to work for a PR fashion agency after college, combining my passion for fashion with my professional aspirations.
The journey hasn’t been easy, but each challenge has taught me valuable lessons in resilience, adaptability, and the importance of staying true to my vision. I want the world to know that my story is one of perseverance and belief in oneself. I am committed to turning my dreams into reality, and I am excited for what the future holds.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ve always loved fashion. Growing up, I was obsessed with Barbies and Bratz dolls, and my room was the go-to place for dress-up fashion shows. Coming from a family full of girls, with a diva for a mom and grandma, fashion was a central part of our lives. They are the ones to blame for my flair for style and glares/stares from strangers! From a young age, I dreamt of being on the big screen and possibly becoming an actress. While that dream still seems far off, I believe that with determination I can make a positive impact in the creative world.
I owe a shoutout to my friend @jerryxjahova, who got me my first modeling gig when I was 19. It was for a prominent clothing brand called Cease and Desist. Moreover, my friend @xotic.certified snapped viral pics of me from a concept he had in mind which heightened my confidence behind the camera. Both opportunities opened doors for me, and others soon recognized my potential, leading to more personal and brand shoots.
I appreciate my girlfriends who go to bootcamp while taking my Instagram pictures. Their support and belief in me have been instrumental in my journey.
