Meet Nayirah Joseph | Event Planner and Caterer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nayirah Joseph and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nayirah, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I am originally from New York. Harlem to be exact. I spent equal amount of time being raised in New York and Atlanta. Really Douglasville, GA. However most people outside of GA only know about Atlanta and thinks I know T.I personally and went to cascade every day of my life. LOL Anyway, I think being raised in a busy fast paced city, and learning southern hospitality in a small town outside of a major city, ultimately created a balance. I’m able to navigate multiple environments and adapt to different circumstances. The aggression of the concrete jungle lives inside of me forever, but that little girl who wanted to be a southern bell does me justice being a kind hearted person. New York will forever be home, but Atlanta has a special place in my heart.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started doing events after having my first child in 2011. I just wanted her birthdays to be the best ever. A few people found out I was the one putting her events together, they highly recommended I start a business. I begin doing parties every so often and slowly moved into catering. Cooking has always been an outlet for me and that outlet has grown into a business. My hopes are to one day have an event space where full service events can be held. One stop shop for all your needs for a successful and beautiful event. Along this journey I’ve learned to keep going even after the 7th “no.” It’s so easy to want to throw in the towel especially when those closest to you aren’t supporting. However if you keep running the race with your passion in mind, you’ll always win. My race isn’t finished and I know the road to destiny is going to take me places I can’t even imagine. My passions run deep, this is just one of many.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As long as I’ve been in GA, I still need recommendations myself. So sad. I’m usually inside or at church, but I don’t mind stepping out once in a while. I for sure have to take someone to get wings. Atlanta has the best wings in the world. If we took a Time Machine back in time, we’d probably be at Figure 8 dancing on speakers. Atlanta gets more and more exciting as the years come. There’s always something new in town to try or something new to try.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My circle is pretty small but there are so many that inspire me and love on me. Of course my children. Outside of doing this for me, they are the motivation behind me being great. My father was my greatest supporter, God rest his soul. My family that supports me and pours positivity into me, I am truly grateful for. My friends are amazing individuals who constantly let me know the impact I have on them and the rest of the world, they keep me going. Everyone that I encounter and able to help in any capacity, it’s an honor to be a trusted vessel in your life.
