We had the good fortune of connecting with Nathalya Damota and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nathalya, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I have always been a very creative person. During my sophomore year of high school I took an art class and I realized that I was good at illustrating. I never thought of pursuing it as a job, but in 2020 during quarantine God placed in my heart a desire to design faith based journals and sell them. Later on my sister introduced graphic design to me after taking a class in high school and that’s when everything changed. After creating my first designs I feel in love with graphic designing. My parents and my sister gave me an iPad for my birthday and it was a game changer for Three Eleven. I never imaged that I could work with art, but I’m so grateful I get to do this. Designing is such a peaceful place to me where I can worship God through everything I create.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
After I graduated high school in 2017 I could not go to college for a number of reasons and I had no idea what I was going to do with my life.

I spent a year babysitting my little cousin and after he went to school I got a job as a receptionist.

In 2019 I started blogging about my faith and my season of waiting. And in 2020 during quarantine God placed in my heart a desire to create journals with Bible verses.

After some research I expanded my little blog into a small business and discovered a passion for graphic design. I have added over 40 different products to our website including hand painted bibles and journals, stickers, keychains, phone cases and much more.

We have been growing a lot in the past few months and I’m so excited to see where God is taking me.

Three Eleven has brought so much joy to my life. God is using art to heal me from depression and I hope that my products and designs can bring people closer to God!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d not be here if it wasn’t for the support I have received throughout this journey! First, I have to thank God for all the opportunities and people He placed in my life, and second my family for all the love and support they have been giving me.

I’d also like to give a shoutout to the amazing community I found on Instagram! All the amazing people liking and supporting my art, all my customers and all my fellow small business owners who have created a safe space for new creators like myself!
