We had the good fortune of connecting with Natelege Swainson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Natelege, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?

My favorite quote that I come back to often lately is that “life isn’t about the destination, it’s the journey!” This has become my new mantra as I navigate this new world as an entrepreneur. I have worn many different hats in my career, and have always been searching to find my niche or true purpose. Once I accepted and fully understood that each chapter of my career (and life in general) has allowed me to gain new skills, knowledge, and experiences to help me move on to the next step; and truly leaned into this learning, the world shifted to open up new doors and opportunities for me to shine and grow. I started receiving more clarity on what I am supposed to be doing, which led me to start my own business.

I realized that there are times for success, failure, and maintaining the status quo, and the key to keep moving forward is understanding that each of these times is an opportunity for reflection, learning, and growth. Having the understanding that they are all part of my journey brings me peace & joy. Knowing that where I am is not the final destination, but only a chapter in my life story reminds me and motivates me to keep stretching, growing, and enjoying the ride along the way!

What should our readers know about your business?

At N. Swainson Consulting, the primary goal is to help guide people and businesses to success – whatever that may look like for them – through coaching, goal setting, strategic planning, and consistent accountability. What sets us apart from others is our unique approach to providing solutions. As the primary consultant, I use my business knowledge combined with my intuitive abilities to devise a tailor-made plan for achieving goals. I approach every new client with their highest intentions for themselves and/or their business in mind to guide, strategize, and support them to achieve their goals. It is a collaborative process that provides room for exploration, analysis, and discovery.

The road to becoming an entrepreneur was not easy. It took many years to visualize exactly what my business would be and how I can most be of service to others. Then I had to determine what that looked like in practice. It also took some time for me to move past my own imposter syndrome, and have the confidence that I could do this on my own and be successful at it. Once I decided to move past fear, it took almost a year to build the necessary structures to sustain a viable business – a website, register the business, establish bank accounts, etc. Once all of that was in place, I felt confident enough to move forward.

I have learned many valuable lessons along this journey. I know that everything won’t always go right. I will make mistakes, and things may not go the way I had planned. The important thing is to keep going. Don’t get discouraged. I know I am working in my purpose, or at least am heading in the right direction. As long as I lead with integrity, hard work, continue to hone my craft, and am effective in serving my clients, it will pay off. The universe will make a way forward for me. This has always proven to be true in my life.

I want the world to know that N. Swainson Consulting truly has its clients’ well-being at the forefront. What drives me in this work is for my clients to move past challenges, reach their goals, and feel empowered to do it. Everyone deserves to live in their purpose and achieve their goals, and I am excited that I am able to provide the support and guidance that will allow them to do it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

I live in the Atlanta metro area so there are so many restaurants and activities to choose from whether you want BBQ to vegan, fine dining to down-home southern cooking, or authentic Caribbean, Asian, and Mexican food. You name it, we can find it!

There are also many historical areas such as Auburn Ave. where you can see the Martin Luther King Center, the new up-and-coming restaurants and shops in the area, and visit Krog Street Market where I had the best vegan burger of my life! The Atlanta University Center where you can find Atlanta’s renowned HBCUs: Spelman and Morehouse Colleges, Clark Atlanta University, and Morris Brown University. There is so much history and excellence that comes from that area. There is always amazing energy in the AUC!

We could also hike up Kennesaw Mountain or Stone Mountain where there is fresh air and beautiful views. In the city, there is Little Five Points where you and find some eclectic and vintage shopping and delicious restaurants. There’s always a story that comes out of a trip there! As I said, there’s so much to choose from in Atlanta. I can assure you there is always something to get into!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My good friend, teacher, and client Zhaleh Boyd Phillips from Zhaleh Solutions. She has helped me to recognize my abilities and talents and has trusted me as a client so that I was able to fine-tune my services and offerings overall.
