We had the good fortune of connecting with Nate Patel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nate, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
There was no structured thought process to starting the business. It was started in the garage and evolved as more and more people began to spread the word.

Eventually I decided it was time to make it official and take it to a retail location.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
At The King of Camo we create custom artwork for customers. Whether it be on a knife, gun, tumbler cup, or even a helmet. We love unique one-off projects and we pride ourselves on being able to customize almost anything for our clients. What sets us apart from the others is that we are a one stop shop, custom paint, custom fabrication, and custom laser engraving all under one roof. This idea of being able to offer customers the ability to customize their favorite belongings was not easy to achieve and there were many obstacles to overcome, including many financial road blocks. It takes money to make money and we didn’t have a whole lot of that to start off. However maintaining a positive outlook and always striving to be the best in our trade has allowed us to taste the fruits of success. We are always growing and learning, and I would say that we are the best at what we do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to the following places:

Atlanta Motorsports Park
Olde Towne Cutlery
NoFo Brewery
Johns Creek Gun Range
The Chattahoochee National Forest
Mountain Motorsports of Roswell

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would first like to credit my wife Kamira, without her support I could never have embarked on this dream. I would like to thank my Dad for helping me get this dream started, without him we would not be where we are today. I would also like to credit Olde Towne Cutlery and NoFo Brewery. They were the first to take on our services and they continue to do so today. I would also like to thank Ryan Matheson, Billie Fry, and  Brenden Eason. They are the dream team that makes up The King of Camo.
