We had the good fortune of connecting with nate mcduffie jr ( natetoocold ) and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi nate, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. I am one of four children, from a two parent house hold. My family is really big on music. Music has always been a part of my life, not really a thing I could run away from. My parents introduced me to music, the bulk of my influence is from my parents, grandparents and great grandparents. I guess you can say it’s in my bloodline. I grew up around instruments and music in the church was also an influence to me and my music capabilities. Every element of music that I have learned throughout life I apply in the way I craft my music and creativity today.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Where I am today is not where I will be tomorrow. My professionalism derives from my dedication and grind to my craft. I will continue be consistent and work hard towards the end goal. Keeping Positive energy fuels my professionalism. Networking will always be a major key to allow me to cross over to the next part of my journey.
Thus far it has not been easy. What is easy when you are chasing a dream? Dream chasing brings adversity but consistency will overcome. I always keep God first, believe, and trust in the spirit. It is not easy but I will overcome.
Patience has been the biggest lesson throughout my journey. Everything deserves timing, this pandemic has taught me the true meaning of patience. Grasping the concept of patience has allowed me to approach music at a different angle.
I am a humble guy who is willing to achieve greatness through consistency. Mobile, Alabama has brought about a number of producers. I’m willing to grind to be the best to ever do it, and my faith will help me achieve that. My faith will help me achieve that. I just want to remind those who are reading this to stay patient, have faith and remain consistent. Everything deserves timing. Wait your time, do not compare anyone’s success. Every journey is different, every chapter is made for growth, do not skip a chapter.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For breakfast, we’d kick the morning off and grab a quick breakfast from Fat Boyz Diner. Maple Street is also a breakfast spot that I visit occasionally as well. Downtown Mobile never gets old for me. Whether its midway or night, I’m always satisfied to be there. Skate Nights on Sundays are dope too. Last but not least, you can’t forget the beaches. That’s one of the privileges of being from Mobile.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
God. He deserves all the recognition. None of this would be possible without him. I’m so grateful for his blessings and all he has revealed to me.
