We had the good fortune of connecting with Natasha Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Natasha, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
My work life balance has definitely improved over time. When I first started, there were many late nights and working around the clock to complete orders. It became very exhausting. Baking and creating is what I love to do and I began to feel burnt out. I now try to plan out my weeks with rest time and set times for me to work to ensure I am enjoying life and also taking care of myself.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love that I get to create delicious treats for all occasions, My cookies and desserts help elevate and add a customized touch to celebrations.

I got where I am today from trial and error. Being a business owner has not come easy to me. Of course I have made mistakes or wish I had more knowledge starting out. I always make sure to learn something from the trials and improve and build upon that for progress and success for the future.

I want the world to know that I am passionate about making desserts that not only look great, but taste amazing as well. I love the feedback and reactions I receive from my customers. It feels great to add joy and be part of a special day in someone’s life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am still learning the area myself. I relocated to Atlanta during the pandemic. Most of my time here has been spent at home. I am just starting to explore the city myself. I would definitely plan to visit some restaurants, maybe a brewery or wine tasting. I also would love to do some type of class or activity. I have been wanting to do a candle making class. Anything that allows me to be creative is always fun.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I definitely want to shout out my family and best friends. They have been behind me since the beginning of my business venture. From recipe tastings, being some of my first customers, promoting my business, or just encouragement along the way. My support system has been amazing through my business journey. Having someone in your corner always gives you that extra boost to to continue on your path.
