We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalie Diane and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Natalie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I really started to take my modeling career more seriously back in 2013-2014 I debated on a name to use. Kind of like a stage name. I always knew I wanted to be in the spotlight because that’s just who I am. But I needed something catchy. So one day I was asking my sorority sister what I should go by and she made the best point ever. She said to me, “Natalie you have accomplised so much just being yourself so why not just use what you got?.” Which was my name. So after seperating myself from an agency I was with I decided to rebrand myself and start going by Natalie Diane which is my first and middle name. When I first heard myself say it I was like oh that’s defintely a star behind that name. Also my thought process was and still is being an inspiration to young girls that look like me. Letting them know that no matter how tough the road may seem the journey is well worth it. Although I had my mom, sister, brother and my boyfriend to be there when times got hard; I wish someone one gave me the the “industry talk. Someone that gave me the ins and outs of the game before stepping into it. Because for me I knew this was my dream when I was younger. When my Uncle Jimmy asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up and I said a rockstar.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The thing that set me apart from others is my dedication and determination to win. When I put my mind to something I go all in. I’m also a very optimistic person so in all truthfulness anything is possible in my eyes. So in my career I’ve accomplished so much that I am grateful for. I’ve walked in New York, LA, Miami, Atlanta and my 2nd hometown Birmingham AL. Even in my short acting careeer I’ve had different extra roles from Star to the Quad and also Divorce Court. I’ve also had lead roles in other films that I’m unable to speak of at the moment but I’m very blessed. The was I got here was through hard work. When I graduated college back in 2014 I made a decision and I said I would take the career path of mine serious. I got with an agency back in Birmingham Al and I stuck with them for about 2 in a half years until we parted ways. After that I made a name for myself and started paving the streets. I got out and networked and submitted myself to castings until they said yes. It defintely was and is not easy but I keep going because I know this was meant for me and when you know something deep down inside nothing can stop you. Through the sleepness nights, tears wanting to quit I never did. Having a strong support team behind me has helped as well my boyfriend and mom have been there every step of the way. Also having a positive mindset. That’s the key to success. There will be times you may not get everything right away but knowing that its coming by having faith is all the more reason to keep pushing forward.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well being that me and my besite stay in the same state now that’s kind of a funny question haha. But we still don’t spend as much time as I would like together so I could think of some spots we could go. First I’d love to go to bruch at some dope vegan spot. My favorite vegan spot would have to be Go Vegan Grill in Deacutar but they don’t have drinks. Then somewhere like Dave and Busters because I’m a big kid at heart. Then I would say catch a movie and then out to a chill lounge; like Dinkies its a new vegan bar that just opened up and they have some good Philly Cheese Steaks and amazing drinks and the music is A1. But I also love a good stay in wine drinking girls night in. That way we can talk about all our problems and laugh and encourage one another to keep pushing forward.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This is a great question and for me the answer is simple. I’d have to say my mom. She has literally been there for me from the beginning and has always supported me without a doubt. This dream is not easy nor cheap and there are a lot of people that tried to get over on us. Some did. But no matter what she always made sure I had. No matter how many times I changed my mind about one hobby modeling and acting is in my blood. Even though I thank her everyday for being there for me this is something I can’t wait to shouAlso I feel as though I’m also living out her dreams because she modeled for a bit before having my brother. So I believe when she sees me go so hard she wanted to make sure my dreams came true by any means and I will forever be thankful for all the wasted money, sleepless nights, listening to me cry and just being the besy mommy anyone could ask for. So this is in dedication of moms!
