We had the good fortune of connecting with Naomi Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Naomi, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Drawing, sculpting, and photography have always been a source of joy in my life. Growing up, my family was immersed in photography and media, and my brother, Russell, was a constant creative companion. He’d often involve me in his photography projects, solidifying our bond and fostering my love for visual arts.
College, however, brought a shift. The busyness of studies pushed my creative pursuits aside. When Russell tragically passed away in 2016, I felt adrift, questioning the path I was on. It was during this profound loss that I rediscovered photography. Picking up the camera again, not just for work but for solace, reignited a spark within me. “Redfox Photography,” named after Russell’s spirit (his name means “red fox”), felt like a tribute to him and a way to reconnect with a passion we shared.
The positive response to my work was overwhelming. People saw a “gift” in my photography, a way to bring joy and capture special moments. This outpouring of appreciation fueled my desire to pursue a career in visual media. As I healed, my artistic vision evolved. “Nomi Alyse Visuals LLC (NAV)” reflects not just my initials but also the journey photography has taken me on. My camera has become a tool for navigating life’s triumphs and challenges, and I want to use it to help others navigate theirs through the power of visuals. This passion has led me to expand beyond photography, embracing new creative territories in graphics, social media, and visual storytelling.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is what truly drives me. What sets me apart is my unique style, and how I strive to tailor the experience to each client. I take pride in creating something special that reflects their individuality.

The road to get here wasn’t always smooth. Building a successful art business definitely had its challenges, especially with branding, financing, and marketing. But I learned some valuable lessons along the way.

One thing that helped tremendously was networking with other artists and creative professionals. By connecting with people in similar fields, I gained new perspectives and discovered resources I never knew existed. I also learned that there’s no shame in asking for help. There are so many talented people out there who are willing to share their knowledge and expertise.

Through networking and mentorship, I was able to develop a stronger brand identity, create a more sustainable financial plan, and refine my marketing strategies.

So yeah, there were bumps in the road, but I’m proud of how I tackled those challenges. It’s all part of the journey! I want the world to know that my art is a personal expression, and I’m passionate about creating unique experiences for each client.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This journey wouldn’t be the same without my incredible support system! My biggest cheerleaders have always been my family. From day one, Dad saw the spark and bought me my first camera. He’s been there for every equipment upgrade and whenever I needed a hand. Mom and Dad both chime in with creative ideas, keeping me motivated.

My siblings stepped up in a big way too. My sister and brother-in-law helped me navigate the LLC process, saving me tons of stress.

Beyond family, I have some amazing friends who have become my business family. Whitney is my go-to person for brainstorming – she’s constantly introducing me to new ideas that push my business forward. Lillian’s become my secret weapon, assisting with shoots and offering creative direction. And Brandon, a videography whiz, has been my mentor, teaching me the ropes of equipment and settings. He even shoots weddings with me.

They’ve all been there for me – from my first models to my current support crew. I’m incredibly grateful for each and every one of them. They’re my team, my cheerleaders, and my family.
