We had the good fortune of connecting with Nancy Gakere and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nancy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to start my own business so that I could have more control and flexibility over my time

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m in the business of inspiring women to travel and making travel accessible and attainable to women who didn’t think it was possible. My story is one of a hobby/passion turned into business. I passionately shared my travel stories on social media including starting a travel blog and over time, people came to associate me with all things travel. When I decided to curate trips and offer them for purchase, there was ready market waiting for me. My challenge has been keeping up with the exponential growth because this is my secondary business but the one I’m most proud of. I’m still learning about the importance of delegating and creating systems to simplify processes. I want the world to know that you can pursue your goals and passions at any age. I did not officially launch this business until I turned 50!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to shout out my family, friends and social media followers for showing support and enthusiasm whenever I shared my travel stories and making me their go to person for travel inspiration and information. They are the reason my hobby turned into a successful business
