Meet Nancy Ellis | Real Estate Advisor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nancy Ellis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nancy, what do you attribute your success to?
Authenticity. People connect with real stories, real struggles, and real wins. I show up as my true self in business and in life, and that has built trust with my clients and audience. Also, consistency is everything. You can’t be successful in real estate—or any business—without showing up daily, even when you don’t feel like it.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m a real estate professional serving Alabama and Georgia, helping buyers, sellers, and investors navigate the market with confidence. But beyond transactions, my mission is legacy-building—helping families create generational wealth through homeownership. What sets me apart is my personal story and my commitment to education, empowerment, and authenticity. I don’t just sell homes; I educate my clients, making sure they understand how to leverage real estate as a financial asset.
I’m also excited about expanding my brand beyond real estate—through motivational speaking, content creation, and storytelling. From my ‘Motivational Monday’ series to the upcoming ‘Move Makers’ platform, I’m passionate about inspiring others to chase their dreams, take control of their financial futures, and break generational cycles.
The Journey & Overcoming Challenges
Getting to where I am today was far from easy. I faced personal trauma, financial struggles, and the uncertainty that comes with entrepreneurship. The loss of my mother was a defining moment in my life, but instead of letting it break me, I used it as motivation to push forward. I’ve had to overcome imposter syndrome, market shifts, and the constant challenge of growing a brand in a competitive industry.
One of my biggest lessons is that success requires resilience and adaptability. In real estate, you have to pivot quickly—whether it’s adjusting to new market conditions, learning new technology, or finding creative ways to stand out. I’ve also learned that relationships are everything. The way you treat people, the trust you build, and the reputation you create are more valuable than any marketing strategy.
What I Want the World to Know About Me & My Brand
I want people to know that my brand is built on purpose, passion, and perseverance. My journey is proof that no matter where you come from or what obstacles you face, you have the power to rewrite your story. I’m here to help people build wealth, own their narratives, and step boldly into their futures—whether that’s through real estate, business, or personal growth.
At the end of the day, my brand isn’t just about selling homes; it’s about helping people create a life they love. And that’s what truly excites me about the work I do. 💫🏡

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely! My journey has been shaped by the love, support, and guidance of so many incredible people. First and foremost, I dedicate my shoutout to my mother, Carolyn Grace McCants. Though her life was tragically cut short, her strength, resilience, and love continue to inspire me every day. She is the reason I push forward with purpose and strive to create a legacy that honors her name.
I also have to recognize my husband, Chris, who has been my rock and biggest cheerleader. His unwavering support, encouragement, and belief in me fuel my ambition and keep me grounded.
My son, Tre, is another major driving force in my life. Everything I do is to build a future that he can be proud of and benefit from.
My sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated have also played a significant role in my journey, providing me with a sisterhood of powerful, driven women who uplift and inspire me.
Professionally, I owe a lot to Engel & Völkers Atlanta and Huntsville for giving me a platform to grow and thrive in real estate. My mentors, industry colleagues, and clients have all contributed to my success by trusting me, challenging me, and pushing me to be the best version of myself.
Lastly, my Alabama A&M University family deserves a huge shoutout. Attending an HBCU shaped me in ways I could never have imagined. It gave me the confidence, education, and network that continue to support me on this journey.
