Meet Nancy Dunson

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nancy Dunson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nancy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
As a former makeup artist with over 15 years’ experience in the wedding industry, I already had a foundation in creating beauty. Pivoting due to COVID seemed like a natural, more meaningful move.
My work is more than just a service—it’s an emotional offering. By focusing on preserving wedding and memorial florals my business is built on capturing fleeting moments and turning them into enduring symbols. To help people hold onto the sentimental essence of their celebrations and memories—offering closure, beauty, and remembrance.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work is rooted in craftsmanship and personal connection. Each piece is designed not just to last, but to feel deeply personal, reflecting the occasion and the person it celebrates. In transforming bouquets and arrangements into lasting keepsakes, I can create a way for my clients to revisit life’s most beautiful moments for years to come.
Every piece is approached with care, empathy, and precision—because I’m handling someone’s irreplaceable memories. Whether it’s a wedding bouquet, memorial arrangement, or flowers from a milestone celebration, my creations are more than keepsakes—they’re heirlooms, crafted to preserve not just how the flowers looked, but how those moments felt.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
LaGrange is such a beautiful and charming city. We’d start with a stroll through Lafayette Square, the city’s cultural heart, with boutiques, cafés, and art. A visit to Hills & Dales Estate, a stunning Italian-style villa with historic boxwood gardens from the early 1800s, is a must. Followed by a tour of Bellevue, a Greek Revival mansion and National Historic Landmark from the mid-19th century.
Catching a performance at Sweetland Amphitheatre, would be on the agenda. The amphitheatre hosts a mix of big-name touring acts, tribute bands, local performances, and seasonal events like holiday concerts and summer movie nights. With its location just steps from downtown, you can make an evening of it—grabbing dinner at a local restaurant, then strolling over for live music under the Georgia night sky.
Speaking of dinner. Savor Southern hospitality with a tasting at Nutwood Winery, where indoor/outdoor seating overlooks a charming vineyard. Sample locally crafted beers or cocktails at Wild Leap Brewing Co.—a trendy spot with great vibes and pet-friendly seating.
A trip to Callaway Gardens, just 25 minutes from Lagrange, could be the best way to end the visit. The Butterfly Center, a glass-enclosed tropical paradise with hundreds of butterflies is magical! There are hundreds of species of butterflies and if you’re lucky, one will land in your shoulder. A walk through the Azalea Bowl is beautiful, especially during spring

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost , my family and friends. Their encouragement gave me the courage to begin. They have been my sounding boards, cheerleaders, and occasional late-night helpers, and I’m grateful for every single one of them.
My clients, for sure. They have allowed me to preserve their most treasured moments. They have trusted me with memories that can’t be replaced, and I will always honor that trust.
