We had the good fortune of connecting with Nanci The Great and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nanci, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Work and life balance is so important. I am definitely a “work hard, play hard,” type of person.  As an audio engineer and business owner, my work hours can vary and become super long, because it depends when the artist gets inspired to work, or what events may be going on in the city. My work/life balance has certainly changed from when I started. At first there were so many 12-20 hour days that I worked as an engineer, all while making sure I set time aside to see friends and family. Naturally, this became tiresome on the body, and after experiencing my first burnout I made some changes to my work schedule and made a point to balance myself out more. Now, I make sure I take time to go out into nature before being in the studio for extended periods of time. I try to check in with my community, and I make sure that I get some form of self-care weekly.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Ninety Three Consultations & Productions is a company that is geared towards helping indie artist and music collectives gain the resources they need to succeed. Ninety Three has a network of over five different studios in which you can use to record, shoot photography, videography, and host concerts. Ninety Three is currently working on production for a few projects: Season three of “The Playbook ATL,”a female led sports show that teaches the masses how to play spades in a safe space. Volume two of “The Atlanta Archive,” a yearbook for creatives and innovators in Atlanta that are making their mark in the advancement of the city, varying from community developers to DJ’s and designers. Lastly, there is a documentary about the creation process of the R&B album “Relationcycles” which will go into detail with different artists and producers in Atlanta that collaborated on the project. This company was formed out of the consistent void of resources that presents itself daily to new and upcoming artist. It is our goal to level the playing field in a reasonable and affordable manner. Ninety Three may be young, but it is seasoned in experience.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Well, let me preface with this, my friends all know that any day in the city can turn into a random adventure with me, so these are a few places that I would take my friends to for good vibes and good food.

Monday- I would hit Ourbar for the comedy show and some drinks, it’s always a great time and you never know who will be in the building. Tuesday is about tacos, so I’m going to Señor Patron, which is one of my favorite spots in Midtown. They have excellent combo platters and the margaritas are always the star of the party. Wednesdays are for Rock Steady. They always have wonderful food, and it’s a great vibe with the DJs in the lounge area and  upstairs. Thursday, I would go to TenATL and just chill in East Atlanta for R&B night. Friday, we could go to Ponce City Market and then later MJQ. Saturdays and Sundays are open to anything. I would just go where the wind leads me.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shoutout to all the people who are on this journey to greatness with me. To the people who believe and participate in the ideas and dreams that I have, and offer their full support, I am thankful for you with my entire heart. Shout out to “The Playbook ATL”, “The Atlanta Archive”, all of the artists that trust me with their music, and the various photographers and videographers that work with me. Lastly, huge shoutout to all the studios and studio owners that allow me to use their space to create with all the different artists in Atlanta!
