We had the good fortune of connecting with NaKia Bullard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi NaKia, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
My end goal is to have my own plaza. I offer so much when it comes to my business.I want to be able to have everything in a convenient location I also want to invest in black businesses to go in the plaza as well. At the end of my career I want to have different locations supporting small black owned businesses giving them somewhere to start. A place where it’s better opportunity’s for them to grow and be successful

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business name is Adorabella Artistry LlC , and I offer hair make up and photography services. I am proud of myself for being able to maintaining all aspects of my business. I was able to get where I am today because of my support system, without them I wouldn’t have made it this far. It wasn’t easy starting off I was always told that I was doing too much. I needed to focus on one thing but me being me I didn’t listen I continue to pick up and add more things to my business. In this journey so far I’ve learned that people will support who they want to, so at the end of the day continue to do the things you love and the things that you want to don’t let nobody stop you and that’s exactly what I did. My brand is unique it has a Latin origin. Adorabella means adored beauty. I always encourage women and young girls that they are beautiful no matter what. When I was younger I was bullied being called fat and ugly having chairs pulled from up under me so I could fall on the floor and I didn’t like that feeling with me now being an adult I wanted to be able to help women embrace their inner beauty allowing them to feel confident in their own skin. I want to be there for them when they feel like they don’t have anybody on their side

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to the Egg Harbor Cafe they have the best breakfast with amazing customer service. My favorite place to walk around is Atlantic Station so I would take them there They have the best Burger place called BGR which would be perfect for lunch
My favorite thing to do when I have out of town company is to take them on a night time ride through the city it’s so pretty
There’s many things to do especially if they have never been here before another place I will take them will be Roswell Mill Park. It’s so breathtaking and peaceful.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I don’t know where to start but first and foremost I think God for allowing me to do the things that I am able to do if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be where I am today. I would like to take this time to shout out the village that stands behind me everyone who has ever supported me who’s been by my side since I started this journey when I was in high school.
I would like to thank all of my parents for sewing individual seeds into me as well as my business
I would like to shoutout my biggest fans my biggest blessings all of my siblings blood or not y’all are the reason I do what I do to let y’all know that anything is possible no matter what. Just put your mind to it and go get it
To my best friend Keisha C. thank you for seeing the potential in me if it wasn’t for you I would have never went to cosmetology school. I would have never finished you pushed me every day. You have been by my side truly through the whole process the good bad and ugly.
Last but not least I would like to thank that angel above my grandfather. He always told me that if I put my mind to it I will get it done and he wasn’t lying
