Hi Nakea, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success of Vtox is our customer service. When we first started there were very few nature based feminine hygiene lines. We needed to stand out. Since the majority of our products are handcrafted fresh weekly keeping up with demand and ship in a timely manner. Doing that eliminates a lot of unnecessary customer service calls or emails. With our spa customer service is top priority, it went from just our location in the Philadelphia are to a dozen locations., We had to offer the best in education, service and pampering. Women come from all over to experience things done the Vtox Intimate Health & Wellness way. This business is heavily based on referrals so it’s necessary to be consistent.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been a Mompreneur for about 20 years and my background is in Publishing and Telecommunications. Starting Vtox was difficult with limited financial resources but I worked with what I had to make it work. I started small. It was an adjustment. My family was in the middle of a major life transition at the time so it was the hardest thing I’ve done in my life. I want to the world to know that I’ve given this business my all and what they are pouring into is a family legacy that’s being built and our goal is to educate women and girls about healthy hygiene alternatives.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would recommend they start with a Vsteam & Chill Experience at our Vsuite then head to the Reading Terminal for lunch. They have lots of choices from lots of small businesses. Our parkway area has lots of museums and old city has everything that they need to learn about Philadelphia as a city. If theyre a sports fan they should check out one of our many sports teams and take lots of selfies at Candytopia.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I got a lot of things wrong in business over the years and this business allowed me to identity my personal problem areas in order to work on them and prioritize others. Peace From Broken Pieces by Iyanla Vanzant was very helpful during that process along with therapy. Our clients affectionately known as The Clean Coochie Crew has become a strong tribe and they push me in more ways than they know,
