We had the good fortune of connecting with Nafeezah Hendrix and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nafeezah, why did you pursue a creative career?
I don’t think I chose this life. The creative lifestyle chose me, I’ve always been good at creating things with my hands. So I thought what can I make a business out of, that I would enjoy and that the people would enjoy, while building a Legacy for my children.
What should our readers know about your business?
So for starters I am a Creative/Entrepreneur my business/brand is Janez Drinkz a mobile beverage bar. I specialize is custom and specialty cocktails, bomb flavored lemonade, and infused (thc) lemonade as well.
I’d say I’m most proud of starting. And excited for the future , the growth and collaborating with black owned liquor brands. I would say I got here from starting, taking the first step,i started During the pandemic November 2020 and I’ve been going ever since. Some days it seems unreal. But I keep going Bc the mission is the longevity, the legacy, an a brand that will be standing even when I’m not. Something to leave my family (Bc it’s a big one) and friends. Nothing about being an entrepreneur is easy but what makes it easier to overcome is sticking to it and knowing that hard work pays off. And that in the moment I’m doing what I have to do till I’m able to do what I wanna do! That’s my motto. I want the world to know that anything is possible no MATTTER your circumstances or where you come from, as long as you know where your going. Also to remember the name because Janez Drinkz will be a household name.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Uhmmm well I’m really A home body soooo something good to eat and back to the crib or a park for a walk.Or walk the town lot of great places to visit! Everywhere in Atlanta tho, Hometown of Martin Luther King Jr. Start with the MLK center then Auburn Ave and Edgewood it’s history and it’s cultured definitely a vibe. Maybe Ponce City Market it’s a mall and they have a roof top. We also have a thing called the belt line I would definitely walk that with my best friend, and get drinkz or food as we walk.
Food wise a lot of black owned places like Paschals, K&K, Jacks, Escobar, slutty Vegan, old lady gang, Breakfast at Barney’s, the Bqe. And sooo many more
Grind house a burger spot, Umai is good, Krog market is a food mall and off the belt line. Atlant is literally a vibe so just a day out for sure.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout my parents first for creating me, my kids for the motivation, My PIC Roxanne for the shoutout, and my Watt for the inspiration and puttin me on to Nipsey Hussle and his movement. They both motivated me to start my businesses and to being self made & Wealthy.
