We had the good fortune of connecting with Naelyn Colette and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Naelyn, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Amethyst is known as a powerful stone to have strong cleansing and healing powers, bringing peace, stability, and calmness among other abilities to one’s life, and just so happens to be my birthstone. The Moon is a remarkable planetary mass that many find astonishing and beautiful. It is something that has many phases, showing herself fully at times, and other times she hides parts of herself from us, however she is always there. My life never possessed those qualities of my birthstone, in fact quit the opposite. I searched for healing, for peace and stability, and so much more for many years. With no avail, I kept finding my resources to fail at assisting me in these goals. Just like the moon through my many personal phases, I hid parts of myself from those around me. growing to be sick and tired of being sick and tired. One day I woke up and chose to find ways to heal within myself without these societal recourses. Through this journey I was able to help myself from both my physical and mental elements that kept holding me back from being the person I knew I was capable of being. Within this phase of my life, I wanted to be able to provide some of these “less societal” resources to others that crave the same qualities of that beautiful birth stone of mine. This adventure has created an endless amount of passion within me to keep flourishing in so many ways, this passion has also given birth to not just my business Amethyst Moon, but my soul purpose.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As I am in the process of revamping my company, I take pride in the patience that I have. We live in a society that is constantly in a rush. I have been taking my time at expanding in the ways I would like to for a few reasons. Over the years spirituality and holistic ways has become a growing trend, and although it’s probably one of the best trends that has taken flight in a while, it changes up the game. Unfortunately, there are some that take advantage of growing trends and try to capitalize from it. When people seek spiritual, mental, or holistic advice or help, there is a 50/50 chance they might be in a vulnerable state. So, I put a lot of effort in the research I do to make sure my products and services are to the utmost quality. I am constantly reading, researching, and taking courses to learn further and improve ways to assist those who seek my guidance. It has not been easy at all, yet they say anything easy probably won’t be worth it, and anything worth it is won’t be easy. So, I breathe, and keep it slow and steady, knowing everything happens in divine timing. I have so much more work to do to accomplish some major goals. Some of the objectives I want to work on are some great programs for small local businesses. And my heart is really set on creating more transitional housing units, along with providing our communities with classes to help them grow in mental health, physical health, financial health, parental health, dietary health, along with many more aspects to be thriving adults. There are too many souls that have fallen through the cracks, the system has failed them, or the resources were not available to them. Creating this endless cycle of suffering that is completely avoidable. I want to provide the accessory that helps those that have been victims of our society and the generational damage that has unfortunately been passed down to so many of us. I just want to be the initial milestone in their journey that leads them to success.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta has an endless amount of fun and unique places to go. From driving out to Savannah, GA to visit the beach, the amazing farmers markets, and beautiful lands to sight see, or going to Midtown to eat at some of the great restaurants and night life that the city has to offer. We have amazing attractions that are family friendly as well. One thing I have been enjoying is going on TikTok and seeing what places others have gone to that I didn’t even know existed. I have now lived here for 21 years since I moved from New York, and I have yet to experience even a small percentage of what Atlanta has to offer.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Of course, those who believe in me, encourage me, and have been uplifting are definite motivators in this journey. However, I would have to honestly say my children, without them ever realizing they pushed me through some of my toughest struggles. There were so many times I felt like quitting, allowing my depression and inner voice to take over. Yet hearing their little voices speak to my ears and soul, and seeing their beautiful eyes look up to me caused me to exert every effort to not give up. They will never understand what that means to me. I am beyond thankful for the love they taught me, and the drive they instilled within me, and I will try my hardest to keep elevating in their honor.
