We had the good fortune of connecting with Nae Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nae, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to start my own business because I noticed that I was being underpaid for my contributions, time, and energy. I felt that I had more to offer the world and that the universe had more waiting on me, in reciprocation for my talents, passions, and doings.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My entrepreneurial work stems from me recognizing my purpose to educate, empower, and inspire those around me. My first business venture was selling eyelashes, clothing, and accessories from “Brennaé’s Closet” in May 2020, and that same year my non-profit educational and mental health organization “Brennaé the Brand” was founded. I found this helpful because of my extensive teaching background and my knowledge of psychology. During the same month, my family clothing line, Brand 1403, was founded in memory of my aunt Jackie who passed from cancer. In April 2021, I became a market partner with the vegan beauty brand Monat Global, which allows me to help people be the best version of themselves and help others earn money. Additionally, I am an aerial dance instructor and have seasonal classes in which people may receive private or group lessons. Lastly, Busy B’s in Motion 360 Photobooth & Photography was founded on behalf of my family, and we attend events and capture them for a fantastic rate. It has not been a smooth or easy journey; however, it has been insightful and rewarding and I am excited for my growth as an educator, entrepreneur, and artist.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being that I am from Saint Louis, MO and not native to the Atlanta area, I would love some recommendations to the best places in the city to have a great time at! Regardless of location, I enjoy eating, sight-seeing, relaxation, and ultimately socializing/partying to meet new people. A perfect day would include going to breakfast/brunch; having a spa day; seeing a new spot in the city; being creatively and emotionally expressive by doing a dance routine/painting/writing; and ending it with a exhilarating festivity, which can include anything from going to a kickback to immersing oneself in the night life.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
