We had the good fortune of connecting with Nadia-Simone Holmes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nadia-Simone, every day, we think about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Since a child I have always suffered from Rosacea, which is a condition that causes redness and often small, red, pus-filled bumps on the face. After the unfortunate passing of my grandmothers I was so overwhelmed with stress and sadness I began having more occurrences of the rosacea so I was determined to find a cure for impurities on the skin using 100% all-natural products.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
As a black female entrepreneur starting a business was more challenging than the average person. Grants for people like me are harder to find, so I would say one of my most difficult challenges was capital. To overcome my challenge with business capital I started baking and selling my baked goods to family and friends, reaching a financial goal I set for myself to start my business. The process to getting where I am today definitely was not easy, but my passion for helping others is what drives me to continue to find ways to advance my business and perfect my craft. One of the things I am most excited about is that my skincare products are 100% organic! I make each and every product by hand myself. As I am a pescatarian healthy eating and healthy lifestyle habits are very important to me. I would like the world to know that my products are suitable for men and women and all skin types. Each product is made with love and care and the results speak for themselves!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were to come to the city one of my first stops would be at Bar Vegan. Not only do they have the best vegan food I have ever tasted, but they are located inside Ponce City Market which is an experience in itself. At ponce you can shop, eat, and one of my favorite things to do is checking out the vendors for small businesses! My next stop would be the High Museum. The High Museum features artwork from all over the world. As a creative, I love being in the atmosphere of other individuals who are able to show their creativeness through paintings and sculptures.
After the museum we would head over to Colony Square which has more outside shops and food places. Colony Square is the perfect place to go to shop and relax as they have a lot of outside seating where you can enjoy the atmosphere. My next favorite place to spend time at in the city is the bontanical gardens! I love taking pictures so this is the perfect place to do so. Not only is the garden beautiful and well kept but you are also able to capture pictures and videos with loved ones that you can hang onto forever. To bring our trip to an end we would spend the last day eating at Slutty Vegan and enjoying a vegan burger, then we would head down to Piedmont park as they are always having events that you can enjoy with friends.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to send a special shout-out to my parents! Not only have they always instilled a hardworking spirit in me, but they have supported my dreams to becoming a business owner since i had the idea. Both of my parents are business owners so being able to watch them create successful businesses motivated me to step out of my comfort zone and create and sell organic products. Everyday my father sends me business tip videos or motivational videos and those are things I will never forget. My mom is always sharing my business with friends and family and helping me create ideas to help push my business into the right hands. I am beyond grateful for my support system!
