We had the good fortune of connecting with Myrna Love and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Myrna, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
Since high school, I have had an interest in business with a strong steering towards business math and anything that involved solving problems. My professional career has always had me in the administration and operational accounting space. Having been laid off twice at the time, I decided I was not going to leave my destiny in the grips of an employer. Therefore, I started assessing to determine what I could do as a ‘side hustle’. Approximately 7 years ago, one of my goals was to obtain financial coaching/planner certification. As I progressed in my career during that time, I allowed that particular goal to be suppressed. However, I never steered away from the ‘side hustle’ path. Instead, I developed an interest in real estate investing and pursued that arena and started my REI business in 2018. I was laid off a 3rd time in Nov. 2019. Then, of course, COVID hit the world. During this down time I enrolled in a coaching program. While consulting with my coach, the discussion of my God-given purpose arose. One of the tasks enrollees had to do was take the Brand Disco Assessment. What this assessment revealed resurrected the goal of becoming a financial coach I had basically suppressed. From that coaching and assessment experience, I am now branded as an analytically-driven solutions engineer that helps individuals change their money mindset by providing resources to inform, instruct and influence them so they can achieve their financial goals.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career spans 30+ years. To start from the beginning, I chose not to attend a 4-year college upon graduating high school. It was not yet clear to me what my particular professional career would be. Instead I attended a business trade school – King’s College, Charlotte, NC – obtaining a diploma in secretarial science. What was most appealing about the school was that it offered employment placement upon graduation. Having graduated on the Dean’s List, I was placed shortly after graduating. Over the course of the years, I progressed to roles due to managers recognizing that I had strong skills in my attentiveness to details, analysis, resolution, coaching & mentoring, to name a few. I never settled. Whenever, I got to a point where I felt as if I had mastered the role, I would always mention to my manager that I wanted to do something different or asked for added exposure to increase my skills. If the opportunity was not afforded, another door always opened. I have learned that one should never allow a role or company define how far you can progress. There may be a ceiling in one place, but an opening always exist somewhere else. I want the world to know that my passion is to introduce them to methods and resources to save and grow money, protect themselves and their assets, and legally save on taxes. My goal is to help people identify their relationship with money and how it may have hindered them from being their best self as it pertains to managing their finances. Most people don’t lead their life, they accept their life – (John Maxwell). If I can assist some in adjusting their mindsets about money, implementing the tools and processes in managing the money will be seamless.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in Charlotte, NC. I would take them downtown Charlotte as one of the outings. I am not a partier, therefore, the outing would involve sightseeing and dinner. We would also visit the museum. Another outing would be, of course, visiting the outlets.
