We had the good fortune of connecting with Myra Muckle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Myra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted the freedom to create my own schedule and to truly work autonomously. I had been working for someone else since I was 21 years old and I have help many people build their dream. I was ready to build my own dream and have the freedom to do what God has called me to do, without restraints.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Private Practice in Gainesville, GA. MY specialization lies in trauma and addiction, with a particular focus on childhood sexual trauma. What distinguishes me from other therapists is my unique expertise in these areas. Notably, I take pride in being the first entrepreneur in my family, achieving this milestone with substantial support from the community, family, and friends. It was not easy at all. I have never been a risk taker and stepping out on my own required taking a risk. I was scared and discouraged. I even thought of quitting once but then I remembered that I am not a quitter. I was able to overcome challenges by seeking help from a business coach. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of humility, a willingness to learn, and seeking assistance when needed. I believe in the significance of teamwork in achieving success in business. One of my core beliefs centers on giving everyone a second chance, emphasizing that dreams have no expiry date and persist until one’s demise. They advocate for unwavering self-belief as a crucial component of personal and professional fulfillment.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and far most I want to thank my Father God and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My amazing husband, Rev. Fred Muckle, Jr. My children, mother, brothers, and sister in law. My therapist. My clinical supervisor Kim Waters-Wood and my coaches Dr. Tanisha Sapp and Grachelle Sherborne-White. So many other friends. Finally my best friend who transitioned in 2014, Kimblie Benton Jarmon, who saw all of this in a dream even before I believed.
