We had the good fortune of connecting with Ms. Smiley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ms., career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
The end goal is to be a major part of the movement for minorities to seek mental health help and guidance in their lives. That it’s as normalized and utilized as frequently as hair cuts for men and nails and hair for women.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business, Confi Life Coaching is truly my joy! I get a high when working with new clients! With my goal of “getting you back to YOUR HAPPY as quickly as possible”, most of my clients are referrals!

I want people to know you don’t have to be depressed to seek mental health help. You can just be overwhelmed or in a new place in your life, like first-time moms, or dealing with parental loss and needing help adjusting to your new normal.

Providing perspective has always been something I’ve done, ever since I was asked to be a mediator in elementary school to mediate or prevent fights. Most people want peace in their life, but it starts in the mind with thoughts and perspectives. That’s why I call myself a “mental reorganizer”!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’d definitely have to go to Treat Your Feet in Doraville for massages. Breakfast at Barney’s for brunch, and hit a day party with DJ Shaolin! Take our kid to the Aquarium, and drive to the country for an overnight to unwind with some wine!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I will always have to throw my push to becoming a Life Coach back to Dr. Edil. Her approach to my sessions filled with jokes, laughter, realistic tools, and coping techniques really helped me to maintain my sanity. Her openness to sharing a bit of herself, made her relatable and I feel, led to my peace and my healing faster!

The Secret Movie led me to understand my own manifestation power. And my mother who told me since I was a baby, by whispering into my ear “YOU WERE BORN TO DO GREAT THINGS”. Have all pushed me towards my path.
