We had the good fortune of connecting with Mrs. Sathya Wilson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mrs. Sathya, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
Your legacy would be that of a compassionate and dedicated advocate for survivors of domestic violence. You would be remembered as someone who made a significant impact in the lives of those affected by such trauma, helping them not only survive but also heal and thrive. Your work would inspire others to take action and create positive change in the lives of survivors, leaving a lasting impact on the community and society as a whole. Your legacy would be one of empowerment, resilience, and hope for those who have experienced domestic violence..
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others are the ability to innovate and stay ahead of the trends while being making history by being the first African American woman to have a publication catered globally to the domestic violence community. Building strong relationships and overcoming many different challenges that a Founder/CEO face. Understand everyone’s different walk of life with passion, love and care while being diverse.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my friends visit Atlanta for the first time I’ll be making sure we visit some of the most fun and interesting places, making sure it’s a memorable visit. I always recommend visiting the Martin Luther King Historic site, for everyone who loves Tyler Perry like I do, visiting his studio and the home where he filmed Madeas Family Reunion, getting a bite to eat at Brooklyn Joe’s, if you love NY pizza, so delicious or even a different experience at The Melting Pot where you can prepare your food at your table. That’s just a little excitement to say the least.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
So yes with joy, I give the shoutout to my life partner, my husband, Mr. Wilson. I know nobody is perfect but he’s perfect for me. Through all of my challenges he’s encouraged me, supported me, and has just been my all in all til this day. When I wanted to say God I’m done, my husband has pushed me to keep going. He loves me unconditionally, despite the challenges he’s faced, that never stopped him for being the best husband he can be. So yes I with joy, give the shoutout to my life partner, my husband.
