We had the good fortune of connecting with Moriah Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Moriah, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is keeping God first in all I do. I am not ashamed to say that I would have nothing if I did not know God. Where I am now in my success required me to spend many quiet moments just praying to him and listening! God says in his word that if we delight ourselves in him he will give us what our hearts desire. Psalm 37:4!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Besides being a business owner, I am also an Educator! Yes I have a passion for the beauty industry, but I also have a passion for working with children. I am able to be an example to every child I teach and let them know there are no limits to their success no matter what path they will choose. For that I am most proud! I got to where I am today because I let God lead me as well as my heart! Working with students has taught me patience and a different type of love. Although my students start off as strangers, I become attached to them because of their innocence. They look up to me and trust me as their mentor/friend. That is a huge reward. I want the world to know that just because I am successful in one profession, it does not mean I cannot be successful in any other! I put my heart in everything I do that is why I will never fail!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite spot to hang out in my city is The Battery Atlanta. You can always find fun things to do there no matter what crowd you are with. There are many restaurants, games, and drinks to enjoy there!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout my immediate family. My mother, father, two brothers, and sister. Without them I wouldn’t be as strong and bold as I am today!
