We had the good fortune of connecting with Morgan Wilson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Morgan, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I saw a need for a civil rights-based public relations firm to tell the stories of those effected by racial injustice. We see tragedy unfold on major news outlets but we don’t hear the everyday voices of marginalized communities and what they encounter on a daily basis. I wanted to tell those stories. My hope is that Hause of Kimora Communications makes a visible impact on the American justice system and its victims.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I spent 15 years of my career as a celebrity makeup artist. After collaborating with MAC Cosmetics I felt like I had reached the top of the mountain. There were no other goals for me to reach. So I retired to find a sense of purpose beyond my creativity. I have since dedicated my life and career to racial injustice and rebuilding America without systemic racism. It has been incredibly difficult to start over and start from the bottom, but every day I wake up with more purpose and drive than I have ever had before. I want the world to know it’s never too late to start over, especially if it gives you a sense of meaning.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When I have friends visiting Atlanta our first stop is always Touchdown Wings on Candler Road. They never ever ever disappoint. Next is usually a trip to Ponce City Market before hitting The Vortex in Little 5 Points.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I will always shout from the rooftops that I had the greatest mom. I wouldn’t be who I am today or where I am without her support, guidance and love.
