We had the good fortune of connecting with Morgan Leigh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Morgan, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
When you realize you want to create healthy habits for yourself it is important to self reflect. After self reflecting you’ll then know what things are most important to you and what it would take to achieve goals pertaining that. For me the main goal is to be intentional, and impactful. In order to be those things I’d also have to stay consistent, disciplined, and driven. Aside from that the love that you have for you art or passion should drive you to stay consistent. It only becomes a chore when it wasn’t or no longer is a passion of yours. Also for me being intentional means listening to the voice of God. I never want to do things just for the sake of it. I come up with great ideas all the time, but if it doesn’t align with Gods plans for my life then it won’t be beneficial or have longevity. When it comes to being impactful I believe it goes hand in hand with intentionality. Because you are intentional about the work you put out you have the time to sit back and think about how it can help others. Does the work you put out have meaning? If it does how does it impact the lives of others? These are the questions I ask myself. Most if not all of our jobs or passions service others. Whether you serve in the hospitality business , style hair, or even make music. Whatever you produce or whatever service you render makes an impact on consumers in some way. It’s up to you to be of good service, make someone else’s life easier, or brighten their day.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Honestly speaking when it comes to my art I’m not sure if I’ve yet found my voice yet. I know what I want to say, just not how to say it. I have the ability and skill, I just want to find a unique and interesting way to express it. That being said, I do have some ideas and things that will be in the works soon. I want to be very intentional about the finished artwork that I officially put out so it is a direct reflection of my abilities. I think what sets me apart the most from other creatives is my desire to impact. Making a difference is what matters most to me. I’m most excited about hosting my first art show/exhibit. I think it’s going to be really intriguing. Something no one has ever seen before. I’m most proud of the things that I have accomplished thus far being only 21. We get so used to chasing greater things to the point where sometimes we forget to appreciate the accomplishments along the way. To get to where I am today took passion. When motivation and disciple isn’t there your passion or love for something will naturally drive you to keep going. It’s not always easy and like many people I’ve gotten discouraged along the way. It’s normal to have those moments, but as long as that love for what you do is still there you’ll never be able to quit. Things that help me get back on track from experiencing imposter syndrome would be to take breaks from social media, and to spend more time with God. There has been many lessons learned along the way, but they taught me to continuously seek Gods face, and to honor him in everything that I do. I want the world to know that true Christians are loving, kind, patient, and gentle. I try everyday to embody those characteristics so that others will see the true meaning of what it is to be a believer of Jesus Christ. What I want others to learn from my story is to never give up and continue to persevere. My brand is intended to transform the lives of others through art and design and I will continue to do just that.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I don’t have many favorite spots in the city, but I feel like Ponce City Market has a nice vibe an aesthetic. Food, shopping, and a rooftop carnival is enough to have a good time. The Battery Atlanta is also a cool place to hang out. I’m not a huge fan of baseball, but it’s still fun to experience. I absolutely love the movies so Studio Movie grill is nice if you would rather have actual food and drinks over popcorn. However my favorite theaters would have to be AMC theaters with the new recliner seats. I also love museums, and If you’re visiting Atlanta for the first time I would recommend go seeing the MLK National Historical Park. Lots of movies and television shows have been filmed in Atlanta. If you’re a film lover like me search sites for some of your favorite films filmed here in Atlanta.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my biggest motivator and support who is my mom. I am forever thankful for our unbreakable bond, and the times we’ve shared together. Without her there is no me. I would also love to give a big shout out to all three of my grandparents Brenda, Walter, and Matilda. They all have supported, and been there for me in more ways than one. I will forever cherish our memories together and I pray we continue to make many more. Also I would like to shout out all of my aunts, uncles, and cousins who have continuously showed their support. It wouldn’t be right for me not to shout out all of the people that I have worked with for the past two years as The Morgan Brand. Not to mention the people who have patronized me as a freelance entrepreneur even before then. To them I am grateful.
