We had the good fortune of connecting with Morgan Hubbard and Kaylin Roman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Morgan and Kaylin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting M K ULTIMATE VENDING LLC was that we wanted to be our own boss by the age of 35. We had a vision to follow our fathers’ footsteps and the entrepreneur route was what we know best suits us. We initially were working on another business plan before COVID but once we realized that our initial plan was not feasible, we switched gears. Kaylin proposed the new idea of Vending Machines and from there on her and Morgan started learning everything they needed to know to be successful. Also, we were thinking long-term and knew that starting this specific type of business with our own twist would make us passive income for years to come.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
M K Ultimate Vending was founded in 2020 by two individuals looking into entrepreneurship and finding their way into the vending world. Our idea was to follow our fathers’ leads as they both are successful entrepreneurs. We have worked under our fathers for some time and finally decided to venture out and open our own business. We provide vending machines; snack boxes and concession stand services. We service Metro Atlanta and surrounding counties. We provide the Ultimate Vending experience by providing you and your staff with a convenient way to break that midday craving. If you are having a conference, meeting, or sporting event ask us about our snack boxes. We can provide you with a convenient and professional way to provide snacks to your clients or staff. Our slogan is “We will never let your business, or event go hungry”. We also provide monthly snacks bags to the less fortunate as a way to give back to the community that helped raise us. Proceeds from our vending machines and snack boxes goes toward this monthly event to help the homeless. We strive to continue to give back to our community and help those who are less fortunate.

What sets us apart from the Vending World is that we offer snack boxes, concession services and consultations because we feel like everyone should get a seat at the table if they are ready to learn. By providing extra services makes us a complete standout from our competition because we are not your typical Vending women. Companies and or sport teams can purchase snack boxes in bulk and provide them to their staff and or team. We take pride in our snack boxes because we are all about convenience and making sure you break that midday craving. When it comes to the concession aspect, we will provide the snacks at your event and once it is over, we give a percentage to you as a thank you for supporting us while we support you. For everyone that wants to get in the Vending World we also provide a 45-minute consultation where we give you the tools needed to start your own Vending Company.

The road has not always been easy and we are thankful to be where we are today. It took us over a year to get the business started and looking how we truly envisioned. We have made a lot of sacrifices and we overcame all our challenges with the help of one another and getting advice from our parents. Coming into the Vending World we have learned many lessons along the way and everyone does not want you to succeed and you cannot do business with everyone. All business is not good business and that lesson was a hard pill to swallow when searching for machines.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So our friend from California just came to visit for a week and we are totally hype. Once she gets settled in our house, we take her to grab dinner at Houston’s Restaurant. Houston’s is one of our favorite spots to go eat. We make sure she tastes their famous SPINACH DIP and have a Hawaiian Steak. The next day we wake up and take her to Waffle House because there are no Waffle Houses on the West Coast and tell her why this is the best place for late night and early mornings. For a good time during the day, we take her to Ponce City Market and ride bikes and walk the Beltline and once we are done chow down an Acai Bowl from Playa Bowls. Later that night we go to The Painted Duck and have some fun drinking and playing duck pin and tell her why this is so much better than the regular bowling tradition. On Saturday we take her to Slush to vibe out to good music and food.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
M K ULTIMATE VENDING LLC wants to SHOUTOUT GOD, our parents, Trell and each other. First, we would like to thank God because without him none of this would be possible. He gave us the vision and we just executed his plan that he had for us. The second SHOUTOUT goes to both sets of parents because they have been very supportive during this journey. They have helped us in numerous of ways and we know we cannot thank them enough. Third, our mentor Trell, who has taken us under his wings and been there every step of the way. He is the best mentor anyone can ask for always motivating us and making sure we will be successful in the Vending World. Finally, we want to SHOUTOUT each other. M K ULTIMATE VENDING LLC is really Morgan and Kaylin building a brand that they both see fit. We have a solid friendship/ foundation and we balance each other out all the time. If it was not for the M, the K would not exist and if it was not for the K, the M would not exist either. Starting your own business is very stressful and we are so glad we had each other, our parents, our mentor and God during this journey.
