We had the good fortune of connecting with More Than A Mom Podcast and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi More Than A Mom Podcast, is there something you believe many others might not?
One piece of conventional advice that I disagree with is “follow your passion.” While it is often touted as a formula for success and fulfillment, I believe it can be misleading and potentially harmful.

The idea of following your passion implies that everyone has a single true calling or passion that they must discover and pursue. However, this notion can be overwhelming for many people who may not have a clear passion or find it difficult to identify one. It can lead to feelings of inadequacy or being lost if they are unable to pinpoint a specific passion.

Furthermore, passions can change over time. What you were passionate about in your youth may not align with your interests and values as you grow older and gain more life experience. By strictly adhering to the pursuit of a single passion, individuals may miss out on exploring other valuable opportunities and areas of personal growth.

Instead, I believe in a more balanced approach that involves pursuing a combination of interests, skills, and values. It’s important to explore a range of activities and fields, allowing yourself to be open to new experiences and opportunities. By cultivating a diverse set of skills and interests, you increase your chances of finding fulfillment and success in different areas of life.

In summary, while passion can certainly be a driving force for some individuals, it is not the only path to fulfillment. It’s crucial to remain open-minded, explore various interests, and adapt to changing circumstances and priorities throughout life.
