We had the good fortune of connecting with Monique Dior and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Monique, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
It’s not gone happen in your time but in God’s timing. So while you wait, keep praying and grinding. Always be a student of life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

What keeps me busy professionally is working 2 jobs, but still dedicating my time to my entertainment career. Within the 1st year of my entertainment career, I walked in New York Fashion Week, won virtual walk off for Florida, Covergirl of a magazine, several magazine features, 2 billboards, graced several runways, and been a background actress on several sets.

I got to where I’m at today by not giving up, although so many times I wanted to give up and go back home. This journey is not easy but every trial helps me build my character and resilience. I’ve made it this far by surrounding myself with loving and like minded individuals. I’ve also surrounded myself with praying friends and family. Every challenge I face I take it to God in prayer. And I write to express myself and look at the lesson from the situation. Don’t give up…. if you quit now you will never see the other side. Quitting is not an option.

I want the world to know that anything is possible as long as you keep trying and don’t quit. No matter what situation your in, pray about it, have faith and keep striving for greatness. Monique Dior is a person who loves life and wants to share joy and this smile with the world. If you laugh, dance and sing at some part of your day it will make the day go by smoother.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So to be honest I don’t go out much because I be so busy but I do have a few places that I know are a must. On Monday Daiquiri Factory in Stockbridge they have all you can eat snow crab legs. And we gone go to Juicy Crab, it’s a must. We will also go to Sports Bar Cafe in Jonesboro and Sugarbush on Tara Blvd. And we gone hang out at Backstage in College Park. All those places come with a vibe. I’ve only been here almost 2 years and I haven’t really experienced much but I have been to these places.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to thank Donya Manning for helping me get started on my modeling career. She allowed me to join her group The Goddesses of Curves (TGOC) and that’s where my modeling went from a thought in my head to actually doing it. I’m a part of some great groups that help me advance my modeling career Goals Plus Gigs and Arita LaShon Muses. I also want to thank Markeshia Gordon-Hines & Joy Thomas, they are the motivation behind me being an actress. I saw them work and it inspired me. I asked questions and they believed in my abilities and they put me on stage. They helped cultivate my craft and I hit the ground running after that. Also, I want to recognize my acting coach Carl Kennedy MFA (please say the MFA lol). When you all see me on your tv, computer, or phone screen know that Carl played a major role in helping me get there. To all of these people I really appreciate them for believing in me and pouring into me.
