We had the good fortune of connecting with Monanik “Miss Moe” Dugar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Monanik “Miss Moe”, what’s the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?
One of the most difficult decisions I had to make was deciding to leave my full-time career, step out on faith and pursue my childhood dream of acting. This decision was mostly difficult because it wasn’t just me, I had to worry about. I had to uproot my entire family and having school aged children added an additional layer to things. I will say from our military days, our family is resilient and use to moving if we needed to. So that definitely helped a bit. All in all, I/we don’t regret the move. We are settled in now, and it was totally worth it!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am truly enjoying the process & journey of being an Actress/Artist. One of the things I’m most excited about is how Acting is more of a calling on my life & a gift from God. So, I can’t wait to see how things unfold along the way. I started acting classes back in my teens and decided to jump back into it during Covid. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure to work with so many seasoned & talented artists who’ve provided lots of good nuggets and takeaways. Some of the best training you will receive will definitely be on set. Some lessons I’ve learned thus far is that you truly have to trust God & have big faith especially when you are a full-time artist. Also, I’ve learned that this is the long game. It’s never too late & building your brand takes time. It doesn’t happen overnight. I want people to know that you’re not too old, you didn’t miss the boat. The timing will never be perfect, So, if that acting bug is calling you go for it!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am a Baltimore native and still learning Atlanta but if my best friend was visiting for a week. We would definitely have to hit a couple brunch spots like Garden Parc & Toast on Lenox. During this time of year, we are going to Piedmont Park for the Atlanta Jazz Festival. Heavy on the museums and tourist attractions like the aquarium & sky view. Shopping is a must and we’re definitely going to Phipps Plaza and cut up a little bit. Lastly, we will grab some great dinner & cocktails at places like STK Atlanta & Nobu just to name a few.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to dedicate this shoutout to my Amazing & Supportive family especially my husband! I appreciate all the love, patience and support along this journey. When I say I feel like my whole family is in the industry at this point. I mean my entire household including my mom has been my reader, camera person, lighting etc. at some point. This is most definitely a group/team effort. From the traveling, auditions, & overall flexibility. You truly need the support and a strong system behind the scenes in order to be successful.
