Meet Moise Nicolas: Filmmaker and Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Moise Nicolas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Moise, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
My end goal changes everyday. One day I want to direct Black Panther 4, assuming it gets that far, and the next I want to be the content creator for brands like Nike, Adidas, or any of the high fashion brands. So to answer your question, I want to run a production company that can provide next level content for top brands or be apart of the next blockbuster hit movie.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My professional art journey was very unusual. One day I am a producer competing in the A3C festival and the next I have a camera in my hand doing what I love for a living. It definitely wasn’t an easy transition. I went from quitting my job with photography and film being my only plan to actually being able to make a living from it all. The lessons I’ve learned along the way is to never quit your day job without a plan. I struggled in the beginning having to do jobs such as Lyft and door dash. I will say though stick to your plan, pray, and keep moving forward it eventually all works out.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am all about food so it would be Breakfast at Barneys for breakfast, slutty vegan for lunch, and PappaDeaux’s for dinner.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are way to many people to name but my influences are the people that are around me everyday and the team that I genuinely work with. Director Penny and Corey Peck in Knoxville and David Piersaul and Anthony Alexander in Nashville.
