We had the good fortune of connecting with Mocity Jaybee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mocity, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Growing up I knew I was destined for greatness. It’s a feeling God gives you before you’re even born, you just have to tap into yourself.

In high school I was basically young man, around kids. I grew up and came up fast. Sitting in class felt like it was holding me back, I was already making money and moves outside of school, I knew a class or teacher couldn’t tell me what I’m going to be, when I have all the tools/ talents to be whatever I want to be. So I took a leap of faith and decided to chase my dreams instead of the norm, college, military etc.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a professional model, artist/rapper and clothing line business owner.

I started taking pictures as a kid and loved dressing up and changing clothes and trying to rock the coolest outfits, always went viral on the internet with my pics and around 20yrs old wanted to really model and just starred shooting and creating everyday and posting it and doing runway shows, collabs with brands etc, the internet really helped my career because it and people shared my pictures everywhere.
At 21 I walked into my modeling agency and was signed on the spot, since then I’ve made thousands of dollars modeling, sponsorships,bookings traveled the world, been on posters, store fronts, stores, magazines, online magazines etc, and stol doing BIG things!
Modeling was always easy. Not very challenging.

As an artist I started recording in 2017, but didn’t find my sound and style till 2019.
Since then I’ve done big shows, sponsorships, thousands of views and streams from my videos and music. And still growing!
Music is a more cut throat industry but Gid made me Ford tough, I’m honesty just having fun and doing music modeling and anything else I do my way and leaving my mark on these things that chose me.

Along the way I’ve learned I’m basically an Entrepreneur, I have to keep going, always stay focused and NEVER stop CREATING, and realize I’ve only got this far and this big by doing what I LOVE and just doing me and creating. I learned to love what I do and live in the moment when I’m doing shoes and on sets!

Would like the world to give my music more listens and tune into me because this is one of the greatest stories never told and I’m just getting started, know that I was once just a bad kid from Houston Texas who found God and made it out! You can do it to!

I branded Mocity jaybee since 2013, I always had the name, the woke made the fame, the creativeness, consistency etc, brought the money!

My clothing line is “ Cobebjon “ a spiritual Houston street wear line! Get in tuned.
I started my own line because as a model I see how much money companies make off my face, and I wanted to wear my own clothes and have the world and my family rocking my gear! And my line is also growing.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m in Houston. Favorite spots for me, it’s so many lol. Restaurants and food trucks, we can literally try them all, I’m cool with all the promoters in Houston so we can pick ANY club or spot and we good! My name holds weight haha, we could do whatever!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicated my shout out to God, and to myself. Without God I’m NOTHING, God gives me my creativeness and talents. Shout out to me for never settling and aspiring and dreaming big! And never stopping or losing my FAITH!
