We had the good fortune of connecting with Miss Shanis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a singer and the official voice of Disney, having voiced the main character Elsa in the animated film “Frozen” 1 and 2. I was also a finalist in the show “The Voice” and the national Eurovision selections in Ukraine. Additionally, I have my own online vocal school, 4Tune Vocal Academy, which I started eight years ago in Ukraine. I have taught over a thousand children and adults to sing, play the piano, and play the guitar. I am proud that I was able to bring my business to America two years ago, to New York. It was two years ago that the war began in Ukraine when Russia invaded, making it impossible for me to continue my activities there, so I emigrated to the United States. Now, I continue to teach and perform here.

The uniqueness of my business lies in its international nature; I understand the European mentality and am getting acquainted with the American one. I help people open up, love themselves, and love their voices. I believe that everyone can sing; it’s just a matter of perseverance and working on oneself!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are plenty of interesting places in New York City, and my favorite neighborhood is Soho, which has many boutiques, beautiful buildings with interesting architecture, and the Museum of Ice Cream. I’d also suggest walking across the Brooklyn Bridge and taking great photos (better in the morning before the crowds). Then, we could go to Central Park for a stroll. I’d recommend visiting the MET Museum, where you could easily spend half a day, as well as the MoMA Museum, have Joe’s pizza, and in the evening, go see the musical “Chicago” (I love it).

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I probably owe the most in my life to my dad, whose love and support have been with me my whole life. His belief in my talent has helped me more than once in difficult life situations. He cultivated a good musical taste in me, taught me to sing, and taught me not to give up. That’s why I confidently participated in various international competitions and the TV show “The Voice,” Eurovision national selections, and became the official voice of Disney, dubbing many cartoons, the most famous being “Frozen,” where I voiced Elsa and sang all the songs.
