We had the good fortune of connecting with MikaRey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi MikaRey, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
This is easy. You always keep going you never give up. The goal never changes. Before choosing the goal your “WHY” has to be understood. From there it’s off to the races.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is my drive and my support of others. I genuinely love to see people win. This world , what we call life is HARD. It was not easy getting here. I had many broken moments but in those moments I chose to go within and allow my inner-self to guide me. Currently I am most excited about The Set Up. In this film I play Melody Barginere the wife of Santana Barginere played by Blaque Watch. My music is also on the films soundtrack. My singles “Making My Way” & “Can’t Let Go”. The Set Up will be premiering on Feb 1st at Regal Cinema in Atlantic Station. Streetz 94.5 will be hosting the premier.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would hit Catch 12 for drinks and a quick bite. I would then call Dj Greg Nyce & DJ Queen of Spades and see where they are spinning for the night. Later that week we would dine at Papadeaux Seafood and dance Salsa til the sun comes up at the Sanctuary Nightclub.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people that I would want to recognize, but to name a few. My Grandmother Eva Gaines, Author, Director & Producer Shaun Sinclair, My sister Angela Harris
