Hi Miguel Angel, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico where I saw my mother manage two famous hair salons. That upbringing gave me the opportunity to witness amazing transformations not only physical but also emotional. Those transformations is what pushes me to be a better hairstylist and lash artist everyday. Having the ability to meet so many people from different walks of life is a true blessing. I am truly honored to work in a field that is forever evolving not only as a community but also allows me to evolve as an individual.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a hairstylist in the works of becoming a platform artist, I have had the pleasure to meet amazing people who have definitely left a mark in my life. With a marketing and extensive costumer service background entering the beauty industry was not easy yet not hard either. Since I was raised in a hair salon, I understand both my clients needs as well as my own limitations since I’ve only been in the industry for about 2 years. With that being said, something that sets me apart from the rest; I would say, is the fact that I am hungry for education and client’s satisfaction. By taking every single step needed to provide what’s expected and sometimes even surpass such expectations. Being absolutely in love with what I do, allows me to demonstrate how my craft is evolving and improving daily.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Although I moved to Atlanta at a young age, my colleagues refer to me as “the kid from Atlanta, who hasn’t been to Atlanta” I don’t know where anything is… However, my top recommendations around the Atlanta/East Cobb area are Mojave Restaurant (their lamp chops are delightful), Roswell Mill Park (stunning views with a mild hike that leads to a beautiful waterfall) and last but definitely not least The High Museum (as a self diagnosed history junkie attending museums and or historical places is one of my favorite things to do, you know besides having a glass of wine while watching a true crime documentary)

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to give a shout-out to my mother. Seeing her going above and beyond to not only provide the best service to her clients but also take care of her employees; all this while being a super mom, has been an incredible inspiration. Having such an amazing role model to look up to and speed dial in time of need is a blessing for sure. Throughout my life she has taught me how to provide client satisfaction, how to care for my team and most importantly how to care for myself. I am extremely honored to have such an amazing woman in my life and even more blessed to call be able to call her mom.
