We had the good fortune of connecting with Michole Holland and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michole, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
As a parent, I feel that the most important thing that my businesses have taught my children is that you really can have, do and be whatever you want if you really believe in it. If you really believe in something, every stride you take will be towards that goal and even if you have to veer away from it, you will usually come right back to it, Focus is everything even if it takes a little more time than expected or desired. Rome wasn’t built in a day!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Stay the Course! I’ve learned that no one will work harder for me than me so I can’t let myself down. By that I mean that no failure is great enough to give up. I’m still working towards the place I want to be but I feel in my heart that I’m destined to do what I’m doing and nothing nor anyone can change that decision but me. I’ve learned that each person in your life is either with you or against you; be ready to remove people who can’t or don’t want to see your dream!

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
My life has changed a lot over the last 10 years with business, a husband and small children but if I had a chance to hit the streets with friends like we used to, it would probably be all food and shopping and start with a breakfast at Le Petit Marche or Gocha’s Breakfast Bar (vegan friendly), some light shopping at PinkSky Boutique; lunch at Desta Ethiopian Restaurant (I’ve tried many and this one is the best so far), Taco Pete Mexican Food Stand (Black owned and authentic taste), Hot Cafe; a stop at the Civil Rights Museum; Blendz Cafe (for a delicious smoothie or Snowball), maybe an early dinner at Busy Bee’s but be prepared to wait a while for that deliciousness; dinner at Clues and Cocktails ( for just that and an escape room experience), Thrive, The Gypsy Kitchen ( haven’t been but it looks fun), Loca Luna for tapas and live music and I’ve always wanted to go to Intermezzo for an evening treat and warm drink! I apologize, I left out most of the shopping and other outings because my mind stays in EAT mode!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Food became so important to me because I LOVE to eat and everyone in my family can really cook! I am so thankful to all my friends, family, clients, customers and most importantly, my children and husband for always encouraging me. My oldest daughter is one of my biggest helpers though. I have to give her special acknowledgement because I appreciate her more than I can explain…I’m tearing up just typing it. They’ve all been instrumental in giving me a reason to try more recipes, tricks, and alternatives which have cultivated my style of cooking and baking. Although, that is also a curse because everyone is hesitant to invite you to eat because they think you won’t like their food! Come on man! Foodies love food, hence the name Foodies!
