We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Simpson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process was to put my motivated energy in something that I love to do. Cleaning is a peace for me. When I start to get anxious or bothered with something I start to clean. I thought to myself, why not work this energy off and provide a world class service to individuals that really don’t have the time to do what I do. I love working and meeting new people and the services I provide make me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. I truly enjoy what I do, no matter how tired I may feel afterwards, it is fulfilling and this motivates me to put my 100% all in all in it.
When I hear that customer tell me how much they appreciate and love what I have provided to them, it just sends a big smile stretching across my face.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started working through a co-op program at a bank while I was in high school. I went on to college after high school, I got pregnant, didn’t know it, had my first son and he went to class with me. I got rough, but I never quit. I ended up graduating so many years later and two more children later, with a double BA in Criminal Justice and Business Organizational Studies. I even went on from there and got a double MBA with concentrations of Acquisition Government Contract Law and Human Resources. Even being a single mother of three, this motivated me even harder to achieve success in building a legacy and generational wealth for my children’s futures. I have always been a hard working, dedicated, self motivated go getter with a mentality that I think I can, I know I can and I will achieve the impossible. I feel nothing is too hard to achieve it, it may be hard to do it while you are achieving it, but you have to set those goals and targets and push hard to go for them. I don’t like failure, but I take it on as a challenge. I have failed many times at different businesses I have started, but I knew that one day the right opportunity that I was truly supposed to be blessed with would come along and GOD has done that for me. You have to have patience and listen to the inner voice that gives you that push and drive to keep going through all the time. Take the good and the bad and let them motivate you., It wasn’t easy and I could tell those stories most definitely, which I am writing a book called, “The Hustle & Grind Of A Single Baby Momma”, yet to finish, but I am determined to complete it.
My Brand represents a person and company that is in the business of sharing and caring. I want everyone who’s paths I cross to feel that I genuinely care about them and what it is that they are trying to accomplish and achieve in life, but they have to want it just as bad. I want my company to grow to a point where I as a benefit for my working mothers they are provided a daycare facility to drop their children off at in the morning and we can make sure they get to school if they are school age as well as after school care. I want them to be able to feel secure that if they need a daycare facility to watch their little ones their job provides that for them. They will have to pay for the services, but it will not be what they would for a normal daycare because this will be included in their benefits package. I want to be able to provide transportation for my workers so that if they are in need of carpooling services it is there for them. I want to be able to offer franchise opportunities for those that are interested in starting up their own cleaning businesses. I want to provide educational services for them to learn while they earn. This is truly a community outreach business, but I need those that are dedicated and willing to grow with the company.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First off, I do a great deal of working so not really a person that hang out a lot. But I most definitely would find some fun things to do for my friend that would be here to visit for the week.
Hot Spots we may visit
Monday, would be a cool down day where they would be able to relax from travel, maybe we would do a spa day and go and get our nails, feet and body taken care of at Pavilion Nail Lounge in Milton and then swing to Jeju Sauna Spa, they are 24 hours. They are a Korean Traditional Bath House Spa.
Tuesday, we may go out to lunch and catch up on missing each other and have lunch at South City Kitchen, Midtown, 1144 Crescent Ave, NE, Atlanta, GA 30309.
Then later that evening I would cook dinner, see what they may want to eat.
Wednesday, we may go hang out at a few of the sites in the city of Atlanta that they may have never visited such as Coca Cola, The Georgia Aquarium, maybe even plan a BYOB Spray Paint and Sip Workshop at Studio W.I.P by Native 312 Events, 1020 White St SW Suite R-2, Atlanta, GA 30310.
Then grab a bite to eat for dinner at maybe at Ray’s on the River Resturant.
Thursday we may go shopping at Perimeter Mall or the Dawsonville Outlet Mall, spend a little money. Grab a bit to eat
Friday we may go hang out later at Humidor Lounge in Lawrenceville, GA
Saturday for the grand finally we may join a Midtown Atlanta Food and Cocktail Tour. I haven’t been but this would be a good time to look into it and plan for it.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would first like to give all the honor and glory to my father above, GOD, for blessing me with the opportunity that he has provided to me. He had given me the strength to go forward with creating my business. He has shown me that no matter how hard it may appear right now, all things are possible through him and this has truly been a blessing. I want to shout out to my husband Nathan S., who has brought me my first work car so that I wouldn’t have to lug my cleaning supplies around in my car, he also gives me encouragement to keep going. Shout out to my children, my son Yasha, who has come to Atlanta and supported helping grow my business and working with me and being my right hand person and admin, Myisha and Tyree for encouraging me to keep going, they are proud of their mom and have expressed I have motivated them in many ways with what I am doing to get their own entrepreneurial talents flowing. I would like to send shout out to my mother Lorraine Hemphill and Step Father Floyd, for expressing them being proud of me and pushing me to keep moving forward don’t let nothing stop me for it is all going to shine bright at the end. My mother is a prayer warrior and she is always sending up prayers for my business to be blessed and grow. Thank you mother. I would like to send shout outs to my sister Christy and brothers, MP and Rah for also being that motivating push and supporting my business to the point of wanting to expand it there in our hometown of Saint Louis, Missouri. I would like to send a special shout out to my bible study group of individuals that have prayed with me, sent prayers up for me, motivated and encouraged me with GOD’s word and never to give up on my business.
I want to shout out to Tenacity Cleaning, Mrs. Johnson has inspired me to keep my business running. She is an expert in the business, she gives sound great advice, she host talk’em sessions with her Podcast and she even has an academy where you can learn. I have purchased a great deal of her forms that she have used and that has helped to set me up for success. Just love her and what she is doing to clean business owners.
Books that I have read that have just provided me with motivation, sound advice, and the go get it, to keep it pushing are that of Jack Welch’s, “Winning”,
Timothy Ferriss’s, “The 4 Hour Work Week”
David J., Schwartz’s, “The Magic of Thinking BIG”
I just purchased and started reading a book by one of my mentors, Natalie R Williams, “The CORE Method” This is a guide to purpose Driven Results.
The list could go on and on.
And last but certainly not least, I want to shout out to ME, Myself and I, no matter how tough and rough it has been, no matter what trials and tribulations I have encountered, these have been nothing but lessons and motivators for me to strive to reach my goals. I want to be a world renowned business woman, who can uplift, motivate, and help others, particularly women, young women, single mothers who strive to accomplish their goals no matter what. Nothing is too hard and you have to face adversity with all you have in order to achieve success. Never be fearful of failing, love failing because this is the main motivator for getting back up and getting it done.
