We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Gee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe in order to see results, you have to take some sort of risk. Risk to me helps you as a business owner create character and ownership. Looking back on all of the risk I’ve taken gives me so much pride and confidence in my brand. I started Crème De La Body during the pandemic March 2019 thinking that COVID-19 was a joke, thinking that it would be over the next day. Never giving up and taking a big leap faith was worth it. Risking my own career led me to an even better opportunity in becoming a business owner, a better communicator and a better person.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At Creme De La Body, our mission is deeply rooted in empowering women to embrace their true potential and live their best lives, both inside and out. We believe in the transformative power of self-care, and we are committed to guiding our clients on a journey of holistic wellness that transcends mere physical appearance.

It was not an easy journey, covid was a process in itself but picking up after covid was even more stressful. As a first time business owner, I felt people were taken advantage of my lack of knowledge but in a sense, I’m extremely grateful because what I know now will not harm me in the future.

I encourage people to never give up. It’s going to get hard of course. If owning a business was easy, everybody would have one. Never give up if you want a taste of freedom. You may miss your opportunity if you turn backward but if you keep moving forward, God willing something has to change.

My story is no different from anybody else. I moved to Atlanta, GA from Baltimore, MD wanting to better myself and wanting a better life so it shall be written. I’ve came a long way so Crème De La Body is here and shall grow into a safe haven for the community to learn, grow and have success stories for their own. My story still has more chapters to be written. The next scene is on the way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta, GA is full of fun, flavor and fantasy. My 8 years of experience here has never been dull or boring. We’ll go thrifting in little five points and grab a drink at The Vortex. Afterwards I love learning more and Atlanta’s culture at museums like The High or The Trap museum. And for a night cap, I’m 100.% plant based but Atlanta has some of THE BEST vegan restaurants ever so we’re hitting Planta or Bar Vegan ATL for sure. It’s so much culture and vibe here. I’m always entertained every-time I come outside.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a heavenly shout out to my Dad, Mr. Michael Randi Gee. My father passed away to cancer in 2023 and it was an extremely emotional time for me. I had to take some time off from my business because I didn’t know how to stop crying every time I thought about, not being married yet, not having children yet and not being able to experience those moments with my father in the picture. But as I got back on my business horse and started to pick up the pieces of my heart, my father felt more present then ever before. His favorite quote was “You have to deny yourself some things to have some things”. I live with this quote daily. I just want to say Thank You Daddy for always showing me the importance of life and being by my side always no matter what the circumstances may be. I love you and I will continue to keep on keeping on.
