We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Demmerelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
My ability to shift my perspective and mold adversity into resilience. Often in life the aspirations and plans that we all carve out are met with adversity along the way that isn’t always factored into our plans which can derail us from our goals. When you are driven by passion to succeed no matter what then you realize the fundamentals never change instead obstacles can help build endurance. Success isn’t a race to the finish line instead a condition of the mind and consistency to adapt to sustaining the marathon ahead. I’ve committed to consistent journaling as a reminder to define my lane to perfil, my purpose, create, develop, and set realistic expectations. This has helped me to develop self-discipline, reference, and reward progression.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Motivated by my heart desire to be impactful in service to the community and advocate for the youth. I’ve taken up the mantle to commit to a long-term plan of teaching young adults the importance of mentorship, mental health, education, understanding finances, and being prepared to be self-sufficient. I’ve sought to use my thirteen years of diverse background in the financial market also community service opportunities to provide useful tools and resources.

Michelle is no stranger to the pageant world as a former contest in the Miss Georgia USA organization where she was selected as a top fifteen finalist and is the reigning Ms. Black Georgia USA. Michelle will be competing in 2023 for the National title in the Miss Black USA organization. She is inspired to continue pageantry; because it provides a platform to highlight critical issues. I want my daughter, women that look like me to know they can defeat any odds and create their own path.

Michelle is a member of GRLS ATL and Head of the GRLS Give inc. outreach committee, a group focused on creating a culture where women can come together, build long-lasting relationships, encourage one another, and develop an unbreakable sisterhood. The group focuses on personal development, uplifting each other, and supporting the community. They donate their time to supporting youth in under serve communities in Atlanta, through mentoring and volunteer activities.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I live my life each day by the motto “When you believe you have what it takes to make a difference in the world and in the life of others, you move forward with purpose”. A consummate professional, Pageant Queen and servant to the community who is determined to make the best of every circumstance and put my best foot forward. My mother Pamela Parham and Darryl Parham have always been a remodel in leading by example professionally, through community servitude through mentoring, serving in Church and always giving to those in need. My Dad passed away September 2022 unexpectedly as I continue to advocate for my success and role model it has really been a constant reminder to continue to be an example of servitude and overcoming obstacles.
