We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Trapp and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michael, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
At the time I didn’t really know anything about all the logistics of running a business. I just knew I wanted to work for myself & that I loved taking pictures & cinematography. So, at the time, I simply just jumped off the porch with everything I knew & sprinted after my vision and goals.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been shooting since 2015, I’ve been focused on filmmaking after shooting primarily photographs since 2017. I provide all three services under one roof: film, photography, and graphics. Me getting to where I am today wasn’t easy and I saw many individuals give up on their aspirations along the road, I’m most pleased of how far I’ve come. I won’t pretend that the journey has been simple, but I’ve been fortunate to have a few excellent mentors who have taught and guided me along the road, which has helped to improve things a little. The things I’ve learnt during this process are to always remain humble, always remain hungry, and always be teachable since you don’t know everything. I’m 1 of 1.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would put myself in there shoes, start with the most popular & local places.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shout-out to my friends Cinco, Paint & Esco because they always keep me motivated, even when I want to give up and feel like the world is against me, and they always encourage me to keep going another day.
