We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Morrison II and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I love to create and see a vision come to life. I also love to help people achieve their goals and their dreams. I received the desire to put that into action as a business and allowed my faith to guide me in seeing it come to fruition.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I can see things before their time. What that means is that as I am working with a client I can see beyond their words and desire which helps me provide them with work above and beyond what they desired.

One of the accomplishments I’m most proud of is when an opportunity was given to my company to develop and execute marketing for the Georgia Peach Fashion Week. (CLM) Creative Loft Media, was able to revolutionize the fashion industry and (GPFW) Georgia Peach Fashion Week became the number 1 fashion house in the South of the United States of America.

What was so exciting for me was GPFW being featured on the Top 100 cable shows among adults 18-49 on Monday, July 25, 2016 which aired on Love and Hip Hop Atlanta Season 5 on VH1 with 2.6 million viewers. It reached number 2 at a 1.4 rating. WE tv media also did coverage with 834,000 viewers during the Braxton Family Values episode which featured Georgia Peach Fashion Week. I remember watching TV while I was having lunch and seeing GPFW featured and sending my wife a picture. That was memorable.

Over the years I have used the Bible to instruct me and guide me through the process. The Bible has shown me how to create and build visions in an effective way.

It was never easy but I accepted the process at a young age and I’m enjoying the journey. One of the biggest challenges I face is working with clients who are not aware of, or don’t see, their own potential. This delays the vision from coming to life. The lessons I have learned along the way are focusing more on projects that allow my gifts to help clients that want the help and trust the blueprint I bring to the table. I’ve found that this is what brings the most success. Additionally, I’ve learned not to put my own projects on the back burner. Giving the ideas that come to me for my business to grow has allowed my personal visions to be developed and come to life in a way I always imagined.

I want the world to know that anything is possible. As the scripture says in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. In the winter of 2010, I slept in my car with my M Dzyn clothing line and marketing materials as my toes froze up from the cold. But I was at peace knowing one day I would be successful, and this is my journey. Now, in 2022 by the grace of God, I have a successful business that has given me the ability to provide me and my family with a beautiful house on the lake.

Over the years my company has created a radio station streaming on the AM frequency and online platforms. We recently created a subsidiary, Creative Loft Music, which received a distribution deal with AWAL, a British music distribution company owned by Sony Music Entertainment.

My latest venture is (ACS) America Cleaning Solution a multi surface green cleaner & degreaser spray. This project is mainly on Amazon. It was created during the pandemic to help reduce COVID-19 contaminates and other germs safely and naturally.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Hold on… we’re about to take a journey through the city of Atlanta with Michael Morrison.

24 Hours before arrival I go to Julius Murry of Capital Cadillac for a loaner vehicle. He provides me a 2022 Cadillac Escalade. Shortly after I stop by one of my favorite restaurants, C & S Seafood & Oyster Bar for oysters.

I head home and greet my wife, the kids and Chuck Norris my dog. My wife asks, is that a new vehicle you purchased?

Friday, Day 1 at 1:00 PM, My childhood friend and clothing line partner, Machel Farquharson of M Dzyn, arrives at the Atlanta airport. I take him to the nearest Jos. A. Bank store to shop for clothes while he’s here in Atlanta. We head to Buckhead to visit another restaurant favorite, Atlanta Fish Market we then head to the studio while the producer makes beats for a project.

7:00 PM – We travel towards downtown, Atlanta, to the company’s high-rise at the Altitude apartments. I call my wife to check-in while unwinding from the day.

9:00 PM – We both change clothes for the nightlife. I drive Machel to Bankhead to see the gentrification and the old remnants of the area.

11:30 PM – We arrive at the Whiskey Blue – Rooftop Lounge in Buckhead to discuss future ventures.

2:00 AM – I return Machel to the high-rise and head home to my family while cruising on the highway with the Cadillac Bose speakers blasting the new track that was created earlier that day for visual inspiration.

2:45 AM – I arrive home and sit in the car checking all my social media pages unwinding before entering the house by 3:00 AM.

11:00 AM – I leave the house to pick Machel up.

4:40 PM – We both open our computers to start on individual projects as we create in the moment.

7:00 PM – We order Chick-fil-A through DoorDash to the studio.

8:20 PM – As the day comes to an end everyone feels their day was accomplished. Shortly after my wife calls to check up with me.

9:05 PM – We depart from the studio and end the day at Loews in Midtown for refreshments and enjoy the social gathering in the lounge.

10:30 PM – While at the Loews, Machel and I further discuss how to raise capital for the future ventures.

11:45 PM – We come to an agreement on how to raise capital with using our separate projects.

12:01 AM – Machel and I walk to the next building to Café Intermezzo. I have a decaf coffee and he indulged in a mint tea, along with a late meal.

1:12 AM – We drive through the city of Atlanta’s nightlife. We park the Escalade and sit in it while watching the interactions of clubgoers. You may ask yourself, why would they sit in a vehicle and watch people? The answer is simple. We can see the trends, patterns and the lifestyle of those we will influence as creators.

2:30 AM – I drop Machel off to the high-rise. My wife calls me while I head home to asked what time I will be returning.

3:15 AM – I return home to rest with my wife and my baby girl in the bed.

7:45 AM – Select my Sunday suit, give Machel a call that I’m getting ready and take a shower.

8:45 AM – I’m fully dressed and my family is up around the house. I pray with the family before leaving to go pick up Machel at the high-rise. On the way there I contact Pastor’s personal driver and alert him on the time I will be arriving to greet Pastor at his door.

9:30 AM – Machel meets me downstairs of the high-rise. We head to church.

10:15 AM – I arrive at IGO Church in Smyrna on Windy Hill Rd. I then put things in order for service.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It all started with my childhood friend Machel Farquharson of M Dzyn. At the age of seventeen we connected as he created my party flyers. Machel was also a T-shirt designer. He gave me free T-shirts along the way. I believed in his brand, so we partnered up to expand the brand. Over the years we were able to establish the brand’s identity in Jamaica and Europe within the Dancehall community which included work for, DJ’s and artists, as well as event sponsorship and creation for a successful cartoon. Machel has been one of my biggest supporters and his encouragement throughout the years has been valuable to the success of my business.
