We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael “Mic Mic” McClendon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michael, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was I wanted to become successful with my brand. I realized after reading this business of music, that ownership is the key. My thought process grew more and learning how to weave the music and film with the business.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an artist a hip-hop artist and producer I’m also a filmmaker I was a sports collegiate athlete track and field and when I finished college I decided to move to New York City to pursue an internship in the music industry what set me apart from others is that I always knew that I would be successful and even though my career has had a lot of ups and downs at this point I’m so happy that I persevered and I’m able to help others. I never gave up and I never gave up hope.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being in The Bay Area San Francisco Chinatown, presidio the beaches fisherman‘s wharf downtown San Francisco, Oakland, Bodega Bay an Napa if you’re into wine the wineries wonderful sightseeing mountains lakes can you go up north to Eureka plenty of beautiful places to visit. Hiking walking or jus sitting back and enjoying one self. Just California as a whole is a vibe.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I give thanks To God. My family my Mom and Dad.
I have some college coaches that have been influential and definitely some business partners and artists and producers.
