Meet Michael Jordan | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Jordan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
This most important factor was to keep going honestly. There have been many times i wanted to give up or getting in ruts. Photography has been life changing in so many ways,has helped me see the world around me in a totally different life. I’m always at peace whenever I’m shooting or being around photography in some manner.

I’ve been blessed to come across other photographers (@mrbandcamp, @versaphotos) they really helped me in a lot of ways when I first got started.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I specialize and am known for street portraits and fine art prints. I’m most proud of my landscape and print work. I feel its how I can express myself the most with photography, has allowed me to take in the beauty of the world around me a lot more. I would say my eye is what sets me apart from others the most. I love how I’ve shot some of my angles because I believe it truly displays “beauty is in the eye of the shooter. Whether it’s an empty road or a model in front of my camera, I embody that quote in my art.

Alot of my work is inspired from house music and heartbreak of many forms. Really blessed I was able to figure out how to channel it all.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So hard to just choose one place lol but I would just generally take them downtown. Its so active and full of life in the summer so there is always something to get into.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have too many people to thank I honestly but first and foremost I want to shout out my mother. She’s the most resilient person I’ve known in my life, my biggest supporter she keeps me going and helps me see im not far off from my goals as it seems sometimes.

My bros Paul (@paulmichaelconte) and Will (@mrbandcamp) can’t thank them enough. Paul is the reason I got started with photography, was lost far as what was my passion/purpose. He let me shadow him on some shoots and I instantly knew photography was for me.

Will really is the big brother I never had. The moment we linked back up it was like we had been shooting for years. Our chemistry with shooting is really unmatched as a team I can say. He always pushes me to be the best photographer I can be.

My bestfriends Aaron and lavell from helping me get to shoots,sharing my work and always being at any art showcase I’ve been in. They always show up and hold me down, words could never explain our bond but I love them for life.

Paris, she’s helped me lock in way better on the business side of things and taking a more loving approach all around. Even being hundred miles away she’s always there no matter what’s going on.

This is just a small fraction of my circle but these are some of the ones that see the inside and outside of eye of the shooter. Always will make sure I give them their flowers. They deserve that and more.
