We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Hatcher and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Building things that positively impact people’s lives. I absolutely love it. The buildings utilized for living, working, learning, and socializing by people are the tapestry of life’s great experiences. Time with family, friends, co-workers and colleagues are all spent in and around structures of the built environment. There is no better feeling than knowing what you love to do positively impacts peoples lives in such a meaningful way.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We believe in purpose and people over profit. Our mission influences everything we do. If the projects we build and core values are elevating the quality of peoples lives then we are doing it the Sovereign Way.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Without a doubt, I would take them to an Atlanta Braves game, and then follow it up with a meal at Fox Brothers barbecue. Hit the beltline after barbecue, take in the sights and consume a couple of adult beverages while enjoying the energy of the city. At the same Damn Time…..

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The greatest influences on my life have without question been my parents and my wife. My mom was a High School teacher for 35 years and she really taught me about the power of discipline, hard work, and consistency. My dad is an avid reader who even now at 85 years old is extremely curious and interested in constantly acquiring new knowledge. My dad taught me how to learn and that learning is a life-long endeavor. Learning something every day is fundamental to growth. My wife is my perfect compliment. From the day we first met we clicked and we have known each other for 20 years and married for 16. I learned about the power of love from my wife. Since day one she has given me a greater definition of what love means and expanded my capacity to give and receive love. Throughout my life my family has always encouraged, supported, and motivated me. I think they deserve the lion’s share of credit for all that I have accomplished.
