We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael and Carolyn Cuellari and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michael and Carolyn, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
If it weren’t for my husband, I honestly probably would have never started my own business. I give all the credit to him when he made the decision of opening up a wrestling school. He had a plan and incorporating what I do was part of it. Adding nutrition and fitness to the craft of wrestling was the plan. No other wrestling facility really provides these services. Ultimately, the single most important decision made that really helped our success, is our team of coaches and our partnership with Cody Rhodes and Chip Smith Performance Systems.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Nightmare Factory wasn’t the original name, we start off with “The Power Factory”. We started renting out a small space in Buford Georgia. The struggle was real. We literally got married in October of 2016 and decided to move to Georgia Jan. 2017. Everything happened so fast. Getting our own place, both of us barely having jobs or any source of income. We started with one ring, and it was just him and I. He coached and I helped with fitness and nutrition. My husband was always about doing, giving back, and that’s exactly what he did. This soon paid off. Meeting people that new the right kind of people to get us to where we are now. All these connections allowed us to grow our business into the dream envisioned by my husband. With plenty of obstacles, we never gave up, just like he never gave up on his dreams that are now a reality. This is the message we want other people and wrestlers to know, dream big, make a plan, work hard, and make those dreams come true.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My husband and I are very low key and the stay at home type. For me personally, I love visiting the Zoo and Piedmont Park. And of course, my favorite thing to eat is donuts so I would hit up all the hot spots and the best ones so far…but so much more to try are Dutch Monkey, Duck Donuts, and Sublime Doughnuts.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The first person, that deserves a shoutout is my husband! Michael Cuellari (Qt Marshall) has worked so hard in making his dream a reality. And he has done that here at The Nightmare Factory. I would also like to thank Cody Rhodes for all his help, support, and hard work in developing our 12 week camps for wrestlers. He is all about helping and giving opportunities to all the campers and he goes beyond to fulfill them. We also have a few other coaches that put in a lot of work and I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart: Ray Lloyd, Luke Sampson, Baron Black, Cody Vance, and Alan Angels.
