We had the good fortune of connecting with MIA HATTEN and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi MIA, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was working for someone and I didn’t like the way she handled business especially with finances. She would always encourage me to become an entrepreneur so I decided to step out of my comfort zone to start my own business in 2009. I was never able to work for others for long, I would always quit my jobs. I wanted the freedom of working from home when I needed to and also taking vacations when I wanted to with my family.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have a home care agency that I have owned for twelve years now. What set me apart from my competition is that I never marketed my business to take other agencies clients. I started with zero clients but spoke overflow into my business. What was meant for me I was able to receive by staying true to my mission and goals. It has never been easy because nobody taught me the do’s and don’ts of being an entrepreneur so I learned a lot of mistakes that hard way. I was able to overcome my challenges by never giving up, even through my darkest moments. I have learned how to manage my finances, hire a team, and also to be a leader. I want the world to know that when you truly believe and manifest everything you desire, you will receive! If you stay in alignment with your goals you will achieve them. There is nothing that I have asked for that I haven’t received as of yet. The only time anything is not received is because I didn’t allow it and I was not focused on my alignment and assignment. I’m most proud of the drug testing center that I opened in 2020 because it has blossomed into a very successful business!!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting my city I would take her to eat at Maggiano’s Italian restaurant, shopping at South Park Mall, drinks at my home and to hang out around me and my family. I don’t go out much I like to hangout at home.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to first shoutout Crystal Brown for motivating me and telling me that I could be anything that I wanted to be because “there is enough money out here for everybody”! Joel Osteen for introducing me to speaking and manifesting everything into existence. My husband Michael Hatten for introducing to me to the book “Ask & It Is Given” that changed my life! Veronica Southerland, Sheila Michelle Foye, and Candace Holyfield who has all motivated and pushed me to being the serial entrepreneur that I am today.
